    HMMWV brake pads

its not uncommon for some squeaky brakes on these trucks, the OEM pads on a 52 are a very high metallic content, you have solid rotors if you are a Serial number under 300k. You need to check rotors and pads for wear and grooving, a pad slap won’t do much unless you go to a softer pad, which you...

1996 M1097A2 Self induced charging issue

GL with all that…going 12v’s is a PITA at best, you will need do a bit more than just an alternator and a starter.

32vdc on the IGN? You have a bad regulator 17vdc on the 14v Tap? Bad regulator AC is a signal….not voltage. what is the running battery voltage? I would venture to guess 32vdc, same as IGN…. bad regulator.

    Ibis Tek Windshield hep needed

anything is possible….but the question is, is it financially feasible, ballistic glass isn’t cheap, especially cut to fit the frame.

    Ibis Tek Windshield hep needed

The ibistek is no longer authorized and is replaced with the other non- egress windshield system Used in most trucks. in the military, if a single piece of glass is needed for ibistek? You have to order the new kit with armor and glass.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

6286 is the correct replacement for the 4879

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

you cant Just use a different model pump and expect it to work correctly, the 4879 is for a 1990-1/2 and above 6.2L engine. being there are so many auction trucks that were reset, verify you have a 6.2 and not a 6.5, it’s not completely uncommon for the military to have installed the wrong pump.

1996 M1097A2 Self induced charging issue

if a gauge is maxed out, you have a wire disconnected, the voltage gauge only has 2 wires, 24v and ground, use a multimeter to determine your true alternator output.

Has anyone removed the cooling stack?

like I said…its not necessarily for the novice mechanic, the TM has the radiator removal process.

Has anyone removed the cooling stack?

Ok, so for everyones knowledge moving on, the ECV/REV have the ability to clean under the 2 radiator stacks, there is a kick stand at the top and the bottom is hinged on brackets, the factory hoses on all sides have ample extra hose and fitting to move the top cooler, the radiator is suspended...

the auctioning of Hmmwvs is now at 11 years, the only turbo trucks being auctioned are and continue to be be USMC trucks, these trucks are what is known as “Exchange program “ or now called “Harvest” trucks, GP buys them directly from the USMC for an agreed value per contract, this is not the...
