I did switch the old cover over. When I did the engine would not shut off. I reinstalled the 24 volt cover and took away power source and engine shut down. I am thinking the old 12 volt solenoid is worn out and will not hold spring back to shut off fuel. I bought this engine from...
Does anyone know where to purchase a 12 volt fuel shut off solenoid? It is the solenoid that is inside the injector pump top cap. I bought a military 6.2 engine and putting it in a civilian truck. The pump has a 24 volt solenoid currently and will not work off of 12 volts. I tried local...
Okay, I removed the propeller shaft, transmission, pressure plate and clutch. Now, my question is how do I remove the pilot bearing? Do I have to remove the flywheel to replace it or can I replace the pilot bearing with flywheel in place on the m35a2. Is there any kind of special tool that I...
Okay, I hope I do not make this to confusing.
This is the situation I have...
When I apply brakes both brake lights come on. If I use the right turn signal the right brake light flashes and left light stays on with brakes still applied. Here is where the problem is. When I use the left...
And another question the two wires hooked to the old style switch. One wire is hot with 24 volts and the other seems to be a ground. Or at least the wire that doesnt have any voltage on it causes an arc when you pull the harness off and short the terminals together. Is the wire with no...
I am sorry I ment to say the wires are coming off of the air pack. When I screw out this switch, am I going to have to bleed the brakes when I reinstall a new one?
I noticed yesterday my brake lights not working correctly. I checked bulbs and they are ok. I noticed that if you hold down brake pedal for about 2-3 minutes they sometimes will come on either full strength or dim then go full strength. I checked wires that go to master cylinder. When you...
Here is a pic of the pump unit. I purchased the kit from Northern Tool. It came with all the hinges, dump mechanism, and pump. I am going to pull 12 volts off of one battery. I am also installing a battery equalizer to balance out the two.
RE: trailer for deuce
Here is a link to the same question about trailer lights. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=25068
The fellow that has the site about converting 24v bus wiring with relays works well. I am in process of wiring relays and wiring harness...
I purchased a M35a2 from GL last month. The data plate says manufacture is Jeep Kaiser and the invoice I got says AM General. This personally does not bother me. The only problem I am concerned about is in NC I have to have the vehicle inspected by a DMV enforcement officer. I am worried they...
I just bought a deuce. I want to install a hitch to tow a trailer. The one issue I have is how to correctly hook up a trailer wire connection. How do I get the 24v signals coming off brake lights, turn signals, running lights etc. to run a 12v system on a trailer. The goal is to be able to...
It is a 1968 AM General. I am learning as I go with the lingo but, I will try and describe truck specs. After checking truck over when I got home I learned it appears that it was serviced before it was sent to GL. Oil was not even close to turning black, new air filter, good tire, looks like...
