CARC no worse than automotive polyurethane paint?

As far as I know, Imron is DuPont's trade name for its automotive polyurethane finish and uses a hardner. I've read that it's similar to CARC. That Scott Air Pak sounds like a good idea. No air line dragging around with you while painting.

CARC no worse than automotive polyurethane paint?

There was a body shop just down the street from me. John, the owner, painted my fuel delivery trucks. I went down there one day to check progress on one of my trucks that he was shooting Imron on. When I got there, he was spraying inside the hose and meter compartment and was not wearing a...

    M45 camper

When a fellow in our South Jersey Chapter MVPA converted his M109, he went to a marina and bought the galley that was in a no longer used cabin cruiser. He got the cabinets, dinette table that converts to a small bed, stove and fridge. Worked out real nice and was cheap to do. The stove and...

    head bolt tool worth having?

That wrench is almost a must have. It's my understanding that there are long and short versions. The one I looked at on eBay, perhaps the one you viewed, appears to be the short one. I don't know if there's a preference. I do know that a few years ago these wrenches were a very high priced item.

    Greenhorn Questions

There are inner axle seals on the front that hold the gear lube in, there aren't any on the rear axles. The rear seals are solely for the packed bearings, so gear lube will escape without flanges or covers in place. If your inner tire sidewalls don't have lube streaks on them, then your seals...

PROM is coming, need help with type of paint!!!

Prior to painting my 1952 M135, I did a lot of research. I checked the color of the paint under the fording cap on the dash and found it to be an exact match to the late WWII/Early M Gillespie that I purchased from Army Jeep Parts. This company is only a little over an hour from my place, so I...

    got the deuce registered.......

When I submitted a bunch of GL's Form 97's and Assignment papers to Trenton (NJ) for titles, they rejected same and sent everything back. The Form 97, in NJ, has to be made out to me, not GL. I feel that Trenton DMV is wrong. Since GL bought the trucks from the government, they have to be in...

    Is it weldable?

You're right, Todd, it's a disappearing art. I took a cracked exhaust manifold over to the shop that did all of my welding before I got my own welder. When I showed the manifold to the young fellow, he gave me the "deer looking into headlights" look, thought a moment, then said "I have to call...

    HOLY CRUD!!!

I'm sold out of the NOS complete kits, but a good portion of one of my storage containers, the long one, is loaded with heater parts. There's ducts, the main heaters, defletors, all kinds of stuff. Although several kits could be made up, I don't have the time, so if anyone needing a kit is in my...

    Extending a Welcome Hand

Lance, I'm glad that you located a truck closer to home. I've traveled to NV several times, but that was in the comforts of my custom van. Plenty of comforts that are not in a deuce.
