Thanks dudes!
I have a couple of ideas on what to check today
I also have a fresh cup of coffee
Keep the ideas coming!
fuse and circuit breaker seem to check out
this alternator appears to have an internal voltage regulator just like my fords
I am not sure why there is one wire not hooked to...
I have it on my screen now
I am trying it read the tm's goes back and forth I have to flip pages to see what shunt they are talking about and this and that
I cannot get the thing to run and when I did it overspeed and shut down!!!!!!!!!
Is that because I pulled that fuse to check it?
Because I...
Saga continues!!
The batteries are not charging
I do not think they have charged once since I brought it home.
The battery charge meter, well I'm an A hole....... It has never shown a charge.
I never got around to checking out why it reads low and I never got my voltage meter out to check the...
The plot thickens! Tearing the Kohler down found a broken exhaust port liner, half of it made its way into the muffler, the other half turned sideways and was blocking the exhaust port
2014 Kohler RES14, LPG, 2680 hours
I have rebuilt a few V twins (kawasaki, Yami) this is the first time I...
interesting! Fuel to the fire
I have nothing here that requires 3 phase, in fact we have nothing here that requires 240V! Even our well pump is 120
I would not ever be using a 3 phase load through that panel
Does that matter?
I see it looks like the 3rd phase down the middle contacts the...
FOUND broken exhaust port liner on the Kohler engine. Exhaust port liner split in half? Half of it made its way into the muffler which explains the metal sound I always heard when running and the other half turned sideways and was completely clogging the exhaust port? Could it be that simple...
I have the manuals downloaded and I even have the paper copy that came w the genset!
I have read through them a little bit, used them for troubleshooting. I have read about every 803 and 804 genset post on the internet, I have watched every video there is out there about these things....I have...
Ahhhh so that's what the reply button does....cool
So the question now is
How many gallons of diesel can I legally haul down the road on a trailer?
And how much does it weigh?
Red diesel is only 5 miles away from me, our road is more of a 4x4 obstacle course then a road, so I have to be able to...
So day started off a little rough... but after removing this bus bar
I DO NOT need continuity between G and N for my application!
And checking all my wiring 10000 times
We fired her up, learned how the knobs and protections work, and she was sending proper voltage to the outback system...
Shes purring like a kitten
Battery bank is fully charged
I had top remove the bus bar that was attaching N to G
Then I had to learn how to use the controls and reset any lights...... we good
You guys are great
VERY Impressed with how it runs, how quiet it is and how quickly it charged the...
Allright guys here we go
As soon as I wire up the 804b I get an over voltage light and engine shut down
I remove my wires, reset the lights and it runs fine.
As soon as I wire up my cable again it gives the light again and will not run
This is with the cable not even plugged into the house! I...
okay phew, I do not need double the voltage!
120V from Line to N is what I need, thank you for the clarification
So to put a load on the third phase I can run a 120V shop heater on L2 and N, that would work awesome! I have a LPG shop heater that we can plug in on the third leg
The ground will...
One last questions
So the 12 bolt voltage panel is set to 208/120 and I understand if I loosen all the bolts and raise it up so the arrow touches it will make 240/416
Should I be set to 240V?
Not 208?
I will only be using two of the three legs as follows:
The outback inverters are...
NATCAD SAID:
410 customs.
Having three inverters is about having three input ac voltages. I haven't read the manual. You can post a link , and also the relevant section on input voltages and 3 phase.
I understand this now! I am intrigued, in the distant future we may very well use all 3 phases...
You guys are great!! Seriously
Okay here we are a couple of weeks later and FINALLY we have some results and I have some answers
The outback equipment is fine, the inverters are working well, charge controllers are good, and all wiring has been thoroughly checked.
------------------------>...
Thank you!
I have been working on the system for the last couple of weeks troubleshooting and learning more about it
I am intrigued about running 3 phase using an additional Outback inverter
I will post up the schematics of our system and how it is wired, I have a nice chart showing each...
lets see we have 5 gen sets here right now
The plan is to sell a few of the crappy ones once we get going with the diesels
We have spent too much $$$ on propane during winter months and with mud season lasting until may it can be difficult to get a propane refill on time
I am really looking...
I understand what you are saying
If I get into these things we will likely end up with 3-4 of them if you catch my drift
So my next purchase may very well be a 803
I tend to overthink things and we pretty much modify everything we drag home in one way or another, why should this be any...
allright
You guys are totally awesome, this site is awesome
THANK YOU FOR THE INFO!
Information is power, will be able to sleep at night
I will be looking at the TM's to see how the ac motor comes out of this generator
If I was to remove the 3 phase motor and replace it with a single phase...
