I replaced the in internal pump a couple of months ago after I was having issues with it failing under load. It was a Airtex E8135 which shows a minimum 5.5 psi and a max of 9 psi with a 35 gph flow.
It will flow from the tank when not under load but there seems to be some issues when it's...
Some have followed my saga with my 803a in the Bahamas.
I ran a fuel line from my external 30 gallon barrel tank directly to the internal fuel pump in the 803a bypassing the internal tank. It seems to have some trouble lifting the fuel consistently. I believe the way the actual aux. fuel line...
Thank you for the info.
I want to make sure that the pump has enough lifting ability to be able to draw fuel from the tank. The inlet for the tank is at the top with a pipe going to the bottom to draw from.
Thankfully, the water pump replacement appears to have solved my overheating issue...

I think you are 100% correct here. Yesterday I tried an experiment.... Remember, I am working on an island so I have limited resources.
I have a 30 gallon barrel that I was using as a auxiliary fuel tank. It was plumbed directly into the primary fuel pump since the aux adapter and aux fuel...
Yes to all. I just put a new water pump on it this week. Now I have a new issue - the unit bogs down under load and dies. No warning lights or anything. Prime pump still ticking away... I replaced the fuel filters recently (when I had the over heat issue) and now wonder if I also have a...
Yes. Overtemp light. Hot spewing radiator fluid everywhere. No coolant in the oil. I do have a head gasket leak detector I could bring over.
Unfortunately, getting time to work on the darn thing is a PITA. I went ahead and bought a water pump. I figure for $150 I could at least eliminate...
Okay... I'm back again... Had a chance to finally spend some time working on the unit.
Flushed the radiator again. Filled the radiator and burped it several times. Filled the engine oil. Replaced the radiator shroud. Replaced the thermostat.
The unit runs like a top while unloaded. When...
The hoses did feel like there were springs in it. The coolant was hot and boiling. Not bubbling like it was pressurized.
The black liquid was from the radiator flush. I drained the radiator and filled it with water and the solution per the directions. Ran it for the required time with no...
I appears that I post about every 6 months or so, after I have been to my place in the islands and had to fight with the generator. This time is no different.
Finally got back to the islands over the past weekend. Ran the generator for a bit without a load and put in some radiator flush. After...
While sitting around waiting to be able to get back into my house in the Bahamas I’ve managed to frustrate myself thinking about voltage and amp calculations.
I have an 803a which peaks out at 53 amps. If I am correct, this is measured at line 1 or line 3 but they amperage is not combined...
I know. Was just trying to go through all possibilities.
When the wife is staring you down because you don’t have power you tend to try things even if you know better.
Any idea what the sludge might be?

So my new issue is it shutting down with an over heat even with a light load. I have added coolant, tried to run it with both the doors closed and open.
I removed the thermostat hoping to solve the problem but that didn't change anything. On a whim I decided to drain and refill the radiator...
Generator ran pretty solid for 6 hours last night with a full load. At one point it was shooting sparks out of the exhaust which I presum was carbon burning off.
I had the battle switch turned on just to see if there might be some faults there. When I came down to shut it off, the coolant...
