Here's a link to a post in different thread with some metering pump part numbers:

Sorry @98G, I'll fess up it was me. I've been looking for a load bank for nearly 10 years. They don't get much closer to me than in Kansas. Feels weird being on the lucky side of a bid for a change. Usually I'm the one setting a max bid and getting poached by 1.
Looks like this unit will need a...
Assuming the yellow plastic in the 3rd picture from post #1 is the underside of the oil fill cap in the top of the valve cover, maybe the engine took on a little water when that fill cap was off.
The 803 at my in-laws near Mission, SD / Valentine, NE got a good workout last week. Power was out for about 4 days Tuesday - Saturday. Felt good to know that their house was warm and the cattle had fresh well water to drink, even though we're snowed in on the other side of the state.
This week...
On the tank side, assuming you're going into the 2" npt on top, you might try looking for a "heating oil tank pickup tube". Or you could build your own with parts from a local plumbing store.
I agree it seems odd for the #2 pump to clog before #1. Was the filter screen present in #1? Was it clean? Maybe #1 clogged first last time (possibly long before you acquired the genset) and got cleaned, but #2 wasn't fully clogged at that time and didn't get attention. I could imagine a...
The pump has been installed on the trailer and will move water. It'll empty (or fill) the 500 gallon tank in about 5 minutes.
The cattle enjoy some fresh cold water on the hot still days when there isn't enough wind to turn the windmills.
Here are a few pictures at the end of a successful...
I don't have your particular model of generator, so take this with a grain of salt...
That smoke seemed mostly white to me. There where a couple times when it sputtered and gave out a little black smoke. It was hard to see/hear if the sputter corresponded to more cylinders firing, or fewer...
If you're looking to add a L14-30 twist lock receptacle, the Hubbell HBL2710SW is pretty easy to flush mount.

I picked up a cheap blaster and hit the pump housing with some glass beads.
Not perfect, but better than it was:
There were some areas that were pitted from corrosion. I filled the pits and smoothed things over with marine epoxy. After it hardened, i gave it a quick sanding with some 120...
Thanks for the advice. I'll start with vinegar and see how that goes.
My goal is to fit it onto a 500 gallon water wagon that the in-laws can use to haul water to cattle and maybe help put down the occasional brush fire. It's probably overkill for that, but we'll see how it goes. There was a...
So, what's the best way to deal with this corrosion?
Guessing that might vary a bit based on materials. According to the manual there's a bit of a variety:
Part
Material
Pump body
AL 319
Inboard head
AL 319
Impeller
BRONZE 85-5-5-5
Strainer
360 BRASS
Drain valve
360 BRASS...
On the bright side, once the impeller came loose, the engine (Yanmar L100) freely turned. The air and oil filters looked good, compression felt good, so I added fresh oil and a little fuel, then primed it 10 pulls while holding the decompression lever. After that the engine started on the...
I bought this water pump in unknown condition. When I finally received it, I found it was seized up. There was a lot of corrosion on the impeller that was visible by removing the cap from the inlet port. I'm guessing it was used with salt water and put away wet.
The tag on the pump is hard...
