First GovPlanet purchase and questions (MEP-803A)

What thermostat did you use...looking at a few other threads they seem to suggest a 15358 is this correct? The original seems to be $50 lol https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/mep803a-thermostat.166108/post-1992811 Edit: Just got back from the auto zone picked up a 15358 thermostat, fit fine...

First GovPlanet purchase and questions (MEP-803A)

New issue on generator, was letting it run the house today for about an hour and noticed it never (at least on the gauge) got above 135 degrees (previous time I ran it it ran steady at about 190, it was also 20 degrees warmer but still), so I tested the gauge by giving it voltages of 10 - 0v and...

    MEP-803A Digital Gauge Cluster Development

Figured I would start a thread on converting my mep-803a to be more like an mep-1040 since I want one and can't afford one, this will be to document my progress. Goals are for a single larger touchscreen to view all data as well as via bluetooth/wifi on phone, idea is to remove current gauge...

First GovPlanet purchase and questions (MEP-803A)

I was thinking the same thing, but I will be adding a larger air compressor and a furnace/a/c unit and hot water heater to the garage in the future so hopefully I can justify it a bit better then. (furnace and hot water heater will be natural gas aswell but will still need power for blower fan...

The only thing I noticed missing from what is on mine is the metal grating around the fan, I ran mine for about 2-3 hours today and temp stayed at 190 and oil pressure stayed around 48.

First GovPlanet purchase and questions (MEP-803A)

Oh, I was confused I meant like I'm upset that I don't have anything else to put on it to get it past 60ish percent load...I guess I will need to go purchase some space heaters or something. Was basically just giving an update that all the parts came in and I can only load it up to 60ish% since...

First GovPlanet purchase and questions (MEP-803A)

My fluke was like $1,300 so it better be good lol and at 60% you can tell it has a load but no smoke or anything, I adjusted the usage meter to be spot on using the amp clamps and the little adjuster screw below the gauge and it seems to be accurate given 10kW = 100% Edit: The first time it...

First GovPlanet purchase and questions (MEP-803A)

All of the missing parts finally came in today (e-stop button and other 1/4 turn wing nut for control panel door), doing first load on house...can't get it past 60% with everything on so kinda sad (most everything is natural gas) Still waiting on exhaust pieces to pipe directly outside.

First GovPlanet purchase and questions (MEP-803A)

No there really isn't a reason to leave it on just so can see the gauges and stuff in the dark without a flashlight, so I will not be putting a dimmer on mine, I am however gonna hook up a esp32 and prolly make a small pcb so I can remotely monitor all the data while it is running tho.

    MEP-803a success story

Do you happen to have any pictures of this? I do a lot of 3D design myself so I would like to make one for myself as well, I didn't even think of removing the hole and adding a socket like this.

Thanks for the info got the missing parts ordered, anyone know where I can get a replacement 1/4 turn wingnut for the gauge panel door? Edit: Looking back at my own picture now after watching the video it looks like the wire going to "8" already has a connector on it for the fuse!
