Took some pics of the catch can. It has a drain valve on it, but it's empty. I haven't attempted to take it apart yet.

I plan on digging into it later today. I think I saw a brand name and part number on it. I'll report back with what I find.

Yup, it's coming along nicely. Also, traced those lines from that cannister in the engine bay. It looks to be a catch can of some sort. One line runs into the driver valve cover, the other goes to the block right above the oil filter (small line with crimp fitting)

Yeah, just floating around. lol When I drained the tank it probably had 10 gallons of water in it. It definitely wasn't gonna run without a draining and thorough cleaning.

I'll give this a try. Thank you! Yessir, after it's warmed up. The IP was sticky when I first got the truck. The pedal was pretty stiff, but loosened up after getting it running. Sounds like something internally is still sticking though.

Found this nifty thing under the driver seat

Yup, changed the oil before doing anything. It was fairly clean, with a Napa Gold filter on it, so somebody took care of it. Replaced it with fresh 15w40 and a Wix filter. There was no evidence of water in the engine or trans, just the fuel tank.

So I threw some new batteries in, fresh fuel running off a can, new fuel filter and glow plugs, and it fired right up after bleeding the system. I still haven't figured out why it was listed as a non runner, other than the fuel tank was full of water and maybe they just couldn't get it to fire...

That's the plan. I was just curious if these old guys could be revived. Even if they could, I don't know if I'd ever trust them, especially on long trips. I don't want to get stranded. Today I'll be dropping the fuel tank, doing fluid changes, and other maintenance. Maybe we'll even see if...

I've seen them running with stuff missing too, but some listed as non runners are listed that way for the most bizarre reasons. I have a buddy who got his from GP as a non runner. He put two batteries in it, changed the fluids and it fired right up lol

It's amazing what they list as non runners. No fuel, missing batteries, or a belt missing and it's an automatic non-runner lol Nice truck!

Well, I'm still twiddling my thumbs. This time it's waiting for the shipper to pick it up. It's been 8 days and counting. :/
