Transportation needed for 5 ton truck

Don't forget gear oil in case an old seal starts leaking. Also, an air hose connected via gladhand is good too.

    M929 Questions

There is some kind of floor covering in this truck. I'll get a crescent wrench and see if I can move the handle. Thanks!

    M929 Questions

What's the valve between the driver's door and seat near the rear of the cab for? I tried turning it, but it appears to be stuck. I haven't traced the lines out yet. Is it the valve that switches the fuel tanks perhaps? Also, does the dump bed latch close automatically when the bed is lowered...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

My next project will be the driver's seat in my M929. I sure miss the air ride seats in my M925 ROPS and the MTVR. I think I would be more comfortable sitting on a milk crate. Any ideas?

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

    I don't think so.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Changed a leaking brake diaphragm. Now I know why caution is to be used when doing so. If that big spring didn't send you to the grave, it would at least send you to the moon!

    M929 Hydraulic Pump Very Noisy

I guess I'll take a chance and go ahead and fill the tank.

    M929 Hydraulic Pump Very Noisy

I thought of that (suction line collapsing). My sone is home this weekend so he can help me. Everything looks tight, no evidence of any seeping leaks or otherwise.

    M929 Hydraulic Pump Very Noisy

The only possible filter I see is on the return line from the pump to the reservoir.

    M929 Hydraulic Pump Very Noisy

I need a little help troubleshooting the hydraulic system on my newly acquired dump truck. I have many years of experience operating machinery that uses hydraulic pumps, but have never wrenched on them much. The pump is cavitating, very noisy, and the bed is very jumpy when raising it. The...

It's a beautiful county, just a little over an hour from Perry. Maybe we can get together one day once you get settled in. Again, if I can be of assistance, just let me know.
