I have 2 802a sets. They both have the fuse mod but neither of them has the MOV in place. This thread contains a few different links sourcing the MOV, some of which are no longer available. Can anyone tell me the correct part number or provide a link to the recommended part?
Thanks to you...
This.
Easier and less chance of messing something else up. Also gives you a chance to inspect everything in the back part of the control cube. I've done it only on 2 802a's and they were nightmare tight with very little room to work. Go in from the side and grab it high.
FYI there are still 1074s to be had.

Couldn't be happier with both of them. As for standards, my problem is that I always want my equipment to be as new.....functionally at least. Which is why that even though I have a fully serviceable volt meter I want to replace it with one that would have come in the machine, along with other...
Nope, not a reset. 2009 build date with 600 hrs. I have a NOS one that's way off center too but not enough to hit when vibrating under load. Like I mentioned before I've seen pics and vids of sets where the alignment is way better than mine. So the question is can you move the engine/gen...
On my 802a the exhaust pipe is not even close to being centered in the hole through the enclosure. It's so close to the edge of the hole that when under load the engine vibrates enough to nearly hit the side of the hole. Is there a way to better align the enclosure to the engine or vice versa...
Great advice Chainbreaker, and as a matter of fact I came to that very same conclusion myself last week. Adding up the cost of the spares I wanted to have on hand quickly got me into the $$ range of a 2nd running set to be used as backup. Light in the Dark hooked me up with a 600 hour unit...
That's good to know but MTBF covers the entire system and the likely hood that any one of the many components will fail in that period of time. What I'm looking for is what are the parts that have proven over time, and a large sample size, to be the ones that will most likely fail.
If you...
The longest I've run on TAC (I assume this means Gen power) is 6 days. I would however shut down the generator at around midnight and fire up again around 6am. This was with a 3 cylinder Perkins diesel with a 7.5kw Marathon head. Which I still have and it's 100% maintained and ready. I just...
Question for those of you who worked with and on the 802/803 sets when they were current issue. (looking in your direction Guyfang)
How reliable were these sets for the troops in the field? What types of issues took them out of service? Were there any weak spots or common problems? Were...
What types of military units would have been issued these generators? Were they powering radar / como / missile batteries or were they in the rear used primarily at forward bases / advance deployment scenarios? I was in an artillery unit and we had 1 portable 3kw unit that we never used except...
