What did you do to your deuce this week?

"...Upside down and backwards is lots more difficult with the consequences of age..." Similar syndrome to replacing the air pressure gauge feed hose. Even with the passenger seat out, soft top untied and up, and feet against the headache rack. Steve

    Show us your Military Trailers

"...My own frame with a M105 bed. Dexter axle with electric brakes and hummer wheels...TobyS" I'd be interested in the specifics and measurements of the Dexter axle assembly. I'm thinking of replacing the ones on my 103s. Steve

    New guy from York, PA

Welcome. Looks like you're just a stone's throw away from my niece in Manchester. Getting back to trailers: If you want that size, you can add Bantam to your search terms. Same basic thing with a ball hitch. Thing is, if you don't find one on GSA, they'll either be nearly as much as a 101...

The topic of MERDC came up on another thread, posted this site, and there is your color scheme. https://sites.google.com/site/merdccamo/home/7tharmy

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I'm wondering if there's a practical reason for the 3rd rear axle. Steve

    M105 axle replacement

I should add this that I've been working from. It's a fairly old thread on IH8Mud but it has good details and photos. I have (2) 105s and (2) 103s. I'm very seriously looking to do with with the 103s. This excerpt is from part way down the page...

    M105 axle replacement

Timely thread. I've been looking for the details where someone replaced the 105 axle assembly with a Dexter/electric brakes. I can't seem to find it. Don't think it was from another site. This was a direct axle replacement on to the existing frame. Perfect for the purpose and brakes for...

    New to M35A2, first purchase

It could be something mechanical but it could also be how you're using the clutch or gear. Perhaps after settling in with the truck you changed your touch. Keeping everything calculated and deliberate can help avoid shifting it like a modern car or truck. Steve

    New to M35A2, first purchase

Glad it went well. What fasttruck said. The air leak under the dash is not normal. Use some soapy water or 'bubble stuff' and a small brush to go around each fitting under pressure. Might be loose, might do with some teflon tape, or you might have a rotted hose to replace. You want to fix...

    New to M35A2, first purchase

I just drove the chase truck for a friend who did the last 100 of 180 miles to pick up his truck. Was uneventful because it's a good truck that had been well-prepped by the seller who we knew well. Nevertheless, we took almost everything mentioned above and a bit more. For the pre-trip...

    pipeline truck value ?

I'm sure it can. I have lots of civilian gin pole photos like that. I just thought this one gave an idea of the effort without one. http://daveahl.jalbum.net/2013%20MTA%20Sussex%20Show/slides/103-Deuce-Kaiser-1968-Pipeline-Truck-Jim-Reasoner.html Steve

    pipeline truck value ?

I'll be watching for that pipeline ad. AND for the M37 dump  I came across some photos of the pipeline from Sussex a couple years ago on Dave Ahl's page. It was taking 2 guys and a bit of 'oomph' to get that gin pole flipped. Steve

    Re-Painting a m101 trailer questions

Search for the threads on 'dump' and you'll find that the right word is 'fold' - for transport, and photos of the reason why. Steve
