Looks to be the remains of a broken spring. Now to try and find replacement parts for everything. So far I haven't been able to find part numbers for the guts of the cans in the TM, just the entire can assembly.
Yep I checked that before bringing it home. I have spent several hours playing with it today. the front can on rear drivers side is now working, was just out of adjustment. The rear drivers side back can is still not working. No matter how much I adjust it the plunger will not move when brakes...
Thanks Will, but that's one of the first things I checked after reading about it being involved in so many problems on here.
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to say read the TMs or search is your friend! That's one of the reasons I don't post in here much anymore.
I always...
This will be my ongoing help and thinking out loud thread.
Stumbled upon to good of a deal to pass up, scrap price for running truck. Might need some troubleshooting help getting it safely back on the road.
First thing I'm working on is brakes for obvious reasons. Front brakes work fine, rear...
Problem solved! After reading the post of another member where he mentioned having to turn his governor up to 28 psi to get switch to work, I also tried it. It worked, for now. Maybe switch is failing and that's why it needed more pressure to close. Regardless it bought me some time. And I'm...
3 wires go to it, but I think only 2 are used. I did jump it out and CTIS started working. Also took it off and pressurized it with 110 psi from my shop and using a multimeter it never closed.
Yeah I figured it would be easy enough to find a substitute, just wanted to see if someone already...
These trucks are turning out to be the most expensive ones Ive owned yet, and I thought humvee parts where high! I figured a new switch would be around $40 or $50 on ebay, never dreamed it would be over $100.
I've also been trying to find a simple door latch and prices on those range from...
Has anyone found a substitute for the air pressure switch that mounts to the wet tank and allows CTIS to begin airing tires? I am unable to find a replacement through the usual places.
Its number 12 in the picture.

Not sure yet if I will be bringing a truck or civilian vehicle. My parents will be visiting during this time period and my dad is looking forward to going. He's retired AF in his early 80s. I'm just kind of reluctant to make the 3 hour drive down in a vehicle without A/C. If I am unable to bring...
M105 trailer, great to haul all the goodies you bought home.
Looks to be in really good shape except the landing gear has been removed. Its included just laying in bed, looks like po was maybe going to add a smaller jack. Newer paint, good cover. Inside of bed has either been rhino lined or...
Have a non running M1078 at Ft Gordon GA if anyone wants to pick it up and take it approx 60 miles to the GA Rally so I can pick up from there on Saturday. Gordon GP rep only allows Friday pickups before 2pm and that's not working to good with my schedule. Would be really nice to know pickup...
This is what I'm wanting to use on the 1078, just don't know if it will fit. Made from an old 5 ton pintle hitch, slides into the same hole and held on with same castle nut as original.
Does anyone with both trucks know if a pintle hitch off a M939 series truck will fit on a M1078? I have a drop down receiver hitch that fits in place of my pintle on my M931. Thinking about buying a running M1078, and wondering if factory pintle hitches are the same. If so I could tow my...
Hey kfrosty did you ever locate your broken pin? If so where did you find it? Ive only found it at Hummerpartsguy and kascars and they want anywhere from $25-$50 shipped. Just seems excessive for a tiny little pin. Figured it may have a civilian application since its a popular xfer case.
Its...
