    Capacitor on alternator

That's weird, I removed the cap when rebuilding the alternator and was immediately intercepted by Russian spies...probably should have kept them on. On a more serious note, my truck still has the caps on the wiper motor. Wonder if I should just remove them anyway at this point since I'm done...

brake conversion of ibooster from Tesla

I would be questioning why the belts keep breaking. I have had belts on for 10 years that work fine. They shouldn't be breaking at all if serviced properly.

    Pushbutton upgrade for thumbless people.

This is only acceptable if you label it "do not push". Seriously, put it back to stock. You will like it more down the road. Sent from my SM-T380 using Tapatalk

    Pushbutton upgrade for thumbless people.

Fix the harness, get a modern glow card. Its a pretty simple circuit and a lot of it can be seperated out from a donor vehicle harness easily. I actually have one sitting in a box from a project where I ripped that turd engine out for a real engine. Its not a race car...get a glow card...

    Pushbutton upgrade for thumbless people.

Yeah I don't know what you guys are talking about. I've had the new GP card and plugs for a decade with zero issues. Time is money and a hundred bucks for the upgraded card is a no brainer. Call it done. Push buttons are cool if you are a broke high schooler. Sent from my SM-T380 using Tapatalk

    Capacitor on alternator

I don't think that has anything to do with alternator function. I believe it's for electrical noise like what is also on the wiper motor.

Why is the truck leaning on the drivers side?

My M1031 had a massive lean when I bought it. Probably that giant stick welder hanging on one side. So that truck had 4 new springs 10 years ago and it's starting to sag on the driver side again. It's less than an inch but it's starting. My Suburban was 2wd and sat straight. I did a 4wd swap...

    M1009 Wont Warm Up

Thermostat doesn't open at 180 degrees, it's meant to operate at 180 which requires it to open sooner. Having said that, mine will run dead nuts on 160 all day long cold or hot out. If I'm getting on it hard and cruising her at 80mph (thank you 4L80) it will climb to like 190ish depending on...

    Pushbutton upgrade for thumbless people.

Sorry but if you don't have a $100 and own an antique vehicle YOU are the previous owner that I despise because they hack it up to fit a non-existent budget. Sorry about your thumb...but get a modern glow card.

    Parasitic battery draw

Definitely need to know both battery charging voltages at idle and higher rpms. My M1031 has sat outside for months in freezing weather and started with the blip of the key. Granted it runs like shit without a block heater but the batts aren't supposed to drain down even for months. If you...

    M1008 transmission

Check the vacuum line coming out of the plastic box attached to the side of the injection pump. That line goes to a metal tube under the intake manifold then down to the modulator on the side of the transmission with a little short piece of rubber in between periods probably rotted out somewhere.

Engine compartment electrical upgrades - Let's see some pics!

Probably a good idea and loom isn't exactly breaking the bank. I probably should go over the wiring again and out some inline fuses off of the battery. I bought one from Deep Sea that has a hole for a lug attachment. Just stick that in the alternator post and then attach the lug to the fuse...

    M1008 transmission

Your post is lacking quite a bit of information. If slow to change up means it is waiting to make the shift till redline you probably have a rotted out vacuum line to the modulator.

Cold weather coming, check your heater box for debris!

    Dude that's just aroma therapy!

Converting your CUCV into a High MPG power diesel! (and solving emissions)

I mean electrically. Plus that only covers a third of the energy. Cooling system heat as well.

Converting your CUCV into a High MPG power diesel! (and solving emissions)

I'm not trying to rain on your parade. Stanadyne spent a lot of money coming up with the Roostamaster. I'm sure it a pretty solid piece. Personally I would be entertaining more of an electrically supplemented turbo improving VE over trying to get the last few percent out of the fuel delivery...

Converting your CUCV into a High MPG power diesel! (and solving emissions)

I don't think you are gaining the efficiency you think you are by improving combustion to lower emissions. Sure maybe a few percent but it's not like you are cutting your fuel burn down by a big enough chunk to justify the process. There is no free lunch and the 6.2 already does a pretty good...

Getting a M1008 to add to our vehicle collection

What do you have for suspension/steering? My Burb is a bit floaty both it and the M1031 ride just as good as a modern 1/2 ton truck. They both steer precisely as well. I will say the wind noise is way higher, the 6.2 is deafening on long trips, and driver workload is way higher then a new...

Getting a M1008 to add to our vehicle collection

With the price of square body truck these days, it's a sure fire investment if you are buying them right. I'll also mention it's cheaper then therapy or a mid life crisis Corvette. I'm lucky my other half supports my addictions. She loves driving stinky. My limitation not owning the home I...

Getting a M1008 to add to our vehicle collection

Yeah keep buying more of them. Zen is only achieved after collecting the whole set. Every man should have a minimum of two Dana 60 axles.
