    Power Steering whine when hot

Sorry I actually completely read that wrong. Whenever I first bought it, I only drove it for just a couple of minutes and I literally mean like 3 minutes around my block and that was honestly out of pure excitement of having a hmmwv. It never got warm at all that first test drive before I...

    Power Steering whine when hot

That was something that I had thought about but I just found it to be odd since the fluid was only 500 miles old. And when I said a flushed the power steering fluid I mean like I completely cleaned everything out that I could and replaced all of the power steering hoses including the high...

    Power Steering whine when hot

I just noticed last week that my power steering started whining only whenever the fluid was fully warmed up. Now I will be changing it as I see that I should be using dextrin but right now there is power steering fluid in there. I did a full flush about 500 miles ago when I got my M1097A2. It...

6.5 Diesel Clunk When Shutting Off Engine

I appreciate the info Retiredwarhorses! Just didn’t know if it was something I needed to look into or not especially since it’s not constant.

6.5 Diesel Clunk When Shutting Off Engine

Okay I guess I really never noticed it but yes it does slow down a little after I turn it off and then the clunk happens. Here’s a video. Thanks for any input you all!

6.5 Diesel Clunk When Shutting Off Engine

I will try to take a video of it and post if so you all can hear it. It sounds kind of like a piston kind of clunk. My hmmwv runs perfectly other than this noise

6.5 Diesel Clunk When Shutting Off Engine

The pulley that is connected to the crankshaft right in front of the harmonic balancer. It won’t move in any way except like trying to twist it clockwise or counter clock wise. I will definitely look at the other accessory drive pieces and see if any bolts are loose or anything. As far as engine...

6.5 Diesel Clunk When Shutting Off Engine

So when I shut my engine off I get a pretty loud clunk noise. I read some posts saying that it’s the crank puller or harmonic balancer. Well my crank pulley rubber is in great shaped with no cracks and I can barely move it at all when the engine is off. Like maybe a 1/4 of an inch. I don’t know...

    Hmmwv Fuel in Oil Pan

So has anyone else ever had an issue kind of like this. I changed my oil right at 100 miles ago. When I changed it last my oil was pitch black. Wasn’t thick or burnt smelling at all. If anything it was actually pretty thin. Well after changing my oil, I’ve noticed that my oil level is somehow...

Hmmwv Blue Smoke and Stutter on Startup

Okay so I tested my glow plugs and one of my glow plugs was bad. Was swollen pretty bad from when I had bought the Hmmwv and it had one of the crappy PCBs in it. So got that changed and works perfectly now. Still find it strange that the smoke was blue from one glow plug not working. I know...

Hmmwv Blue Smoke and Stutter on Startup

Okay so I did not get a chance to check my glow plugs last night but I most definitely will tonight. So this is what makes me think is it glow plugs though because this morning it was 27 degrees outside so definitely colder than the day before when this started. Well it took about 8+ seconds for...

Hmmwv Blue Smoke and Stutter on Startup

Hey everyone, I’m just curious if anyone has had this problem before. So recently it starting getting colder here in north Georgia. Like dropping to the 20s and 30s at night. Well just yesterday I went to start up my 6.5 and it started by acted like it was only running on 6 or 7 seven cylinders...

    M1097A2 Oil Pressure on startup

I will definitely hook up a mechanical pressure gauge to be exact when I get back home. I do notice that the gauge does have a delay because yesterday I was sitting at a redlight and the oil was at 30 psi. Well when I revved it while sitting there it would take about a second and a half to 2...

    M1097A2 Oil Pressure on startup

The gauge is electrical but did not come with its own unit. When I changed the gauges out I did buy a NOS pressure sender because of how bad the connection looked on the old one. It’s designed to be plug and play with the original Hmmwv connections. Yes it is 24v

    M1097A2 Oil Pressure on startup

    M1097A2 Oil Pressure on startup

I was just looking to see if I could get some information about my Hmmwv. I recently bought one to drive quite frequently and on startup, if cold, the oil pressure can take anywhere from 2-5 seconds to finally register on the gauge. Now i don't have the original hmmwv gauge. Instead i had bought...
