I'm a 55 guy in my M998. what amazes me is that people come up on you a$$ real fast. I actual installed amber strobes for any highway driving I do front and back. Hell, if the military has convoy lights, ill just take it up a notch. I did buy new BFG tires on 24 bolt rims which I've yet to...
Read this thread as I was about to research new tires for my M998. Called CSM army tire and inquired about what they had. On Monday 1/3 onorder 4 new BFG tires on 24 bolt rims. With run flats. They arrived today!! Brand new tires. Can’t wait to get them on.
Kudos to CSM. Great deal and...
I bought an M998 from him 2 years ago. My Main concern was that I wanted a truck that was mechanically sound when I got it. They delivered. I literally called them a few weeks after getting it and said my windshield washer pump wasn't working and they sent a new pump out right away. Two...
That’s one thing I was afraid of. Boy it’s been nice these past few days up here in the Boston area cruising area with no doors again. I’m thinking my next buy will be new tires and rims instead of hard doors.
Thanks for all youz guys thoughts on the subject.

Gentlemen,
personally, my truck is quietest with doors off I think. I’m pondering buying hard doors or xdoors. I really don’t run my M998 in the cold winter but fall and spring are my favorite times of year.
do the hard doors make much of a difference with interior noise. I have full floor...
I figure my kicker base and tunes will differentiate me from any guard units. My local PD now has 4 HMMWV’s. They know me. The key is to be helpful and supportive of their mission. They will ask for help if need be.

So, since getting my 998 in August the only concern I’ve really had is operating temp. I’ve read everything I can on the matter and have replaced pretty much everything and with a laser thermometer it runs nice and cool but guage (new) shows 230+ once warmed up.
I have it in the garage to redo...
Thanks for everyone’s input. I read the appropriate TMs and the diagrams associated in them.
Over the weekend I went through each part from the pedal to the injection pump. I checked for binding and sprayed wf40 where any friction could take place.
The end result was that it’s lighter but as...
Thanks for the input. The throttle lock is free and not binding it up. The injection pump is pretty stiff. It’does feel like it bound up but just pretty resistant to move. If gummed up, how would I clean it up?
Bought my M998 last month. Pressing the pedal requires lots of lethal strength , not just pressure from foot. Is that normal? I’m going to start checking cable etc today but I’d love some feedback.
