M37 Still Won’t Start – Not Sure What To Look At Next

Somebody may have changed the oil pump out also. Civillian pumps have the slot in the middle, I believe. If the offset tang wasn't in it's slot, would he still be able to lock the dist. down? I think it's timing also, but this is a tough one.

    first M37

Not sure which holes you mean. There are four gauges, two each side of speedo. There is a large knock-out @ four inches dia. to the right of speedo. I think it is for the defroster?

    Removing, rebuilding, reinstalling Hydraulic Head

Man, that's how I lost one taking them off. I'm going to try a more controllable method. Book says to use a press. I would like to have both hands free to fudge with clips. Thanks

    IP Hydraulic Head

Not to hijack, just add. Bjorn do you agree that the plunger should move all the way through without tighting up. the scuffed end of your plunger in the pictures, should it slide all the way through. Mine is binding on that end. Looking at mine, it's nice and smooth. Not totally sure yet if I...

    Working on the M37

While I had the tank off on mine, I replaced all the lines with new. Just buy the straight lines from Napa and bend yourself. Not too bad of a job. Brakes and fuel lines should not be overlooked [ wife's truck ] Good luck.

    Removing, rebuilding, reinstalling Hydraulic Head

As with anything, once you take it apart, the fear starts to leave and you begin to understand how it works. Now alll I need are the little clips and figure out how to compress the spring enough to install the clips. The book says to use a press, I always wanted a good press :-P Thanks guys!

    Removing, rebuilding, reinstalling Hydraulic Head

Steve, can your plunger slide all the way through , when you had it apart or did it get tight at one end. I'm working on a generator, but it's almost the same pump. Moves free and easy until the one end gets to a spot then tightens up. keep checking, prolly my problem.

Had to take apart, didn't really want to. Got down to the two little spring clips, under the button and lost one...

    Feedback needed - towbar mount

I have to vote with your wife, too much stuff up there. I like the look of the winch and that messes with it. Wish I had a towbar though.

No fuel coming out IP on mep-003

We just finished wiring up my house. I have a plug in the garage and will run a cord out @ 35 feet to the gen. set on the trailer. My trailer is the 1.5 ton with two mep-003"s on it. I used a interlock system on my box, that why I can use whatever I what to in the house and/or shop. One day I...

Well, I've read all the posts going back two years and TM's. I finally have fuel to the IP and return line to tank. I pulled the IP and checked some of it, meaning I removed the button and turned and pushed everything seems to be working, I guess. I did remove the delivery valve and spring...
