Replaced the starter last week(old one fried) with one from NAPA. I didn't relize how slow the old one was turning the motor over until I installed the new one. It spins it 10 times faster which means it starts a lot quicker! New speedometer, fuel guage, wig wags and a light bar for the fire...
Nice looking M1009! I picked one up from Ft Knox on 1/5 and have put about a 1000 miles on it since. No big issues just a few little electrical prob's(turn signals, high beams). So far I love the truck...works really well on the farm and as a fire rescue truck for the fire department.
I just want to say THANK YOU for the simple control card bypass. I did it today in about 5 minutes and it works great. I am used to starting tractors with the manual glow plugs so this is 2nd nature to me. :?fat lady sings
My card wasn't working and when I pulled it today one of the "things" had come un soddered and was rolling around. Found where it went, soddered back in and was lucky that it still worked. Considering the way the rest of my day had gone I was due some good luck!
My M1009 was delievered last night from Ft Knox. Put on two new batteries, changed the oil and it fired right up this morning. Paper work in the glove box showed a "Lathan Base" trip ticket. Does anybody know where that is? The only thing that doesn't seem to work is the fuel gauge. So far so...
