What was your experience with shipping a LMTV

I have another question. With one that's not running the shipping bids are coming in saying loading isn't included. Saying "plus heavy wrecker fees" Has anybody else paid for a weaker and if so what's the price range? IM sent

All you expedition camper DIY people... I have a question

What and did you make your box out of? Kind of toying with the idea of making one and was wondering what people did.

What Oil are you Using in your 3116?

I would run Delo or Rotella. Both are very good oils. What ever you choose stick with it. It is best not to mix brands as the additive package each manufacture uses may not be comparable with the other. Not only has the schooling I have shown that mixing brands isn't the best I have seen engines...

To turbo or not to turbo 6.2 Diesel?

First off you do not want to play with the timing on a 6.2. Align the marks and leave it alone. You can time them with the proper tool but again that's just to make a mark on the cover. You really can't run a diesel "lean" like a gas engine. running it "lean" just means little to no power. Will...

To turbo or not to turbo 6.2 Diesel?

If memory serves me right... the Banks kit said something to the tune of truing the fuel screw "x" amount of times. But that was assuming a newer insulation and newer pump. Not one that is 30 is years old. There an access plate on the side of the pump. Here's a tip... the HMMWV injector pump...

To turbo or not to turbo 6.2 Diesel?

They need to measure the amount of fuel being delivers to the injector. The test bench has a meter on each output. You can adjust the pump yourself but that's not the best way. Too much fuel and you are just blowing back smoke out the tail pipes. Too little and you don't get the benefit of the...

    M1078 Fire Truck

I saw a LMTV show up at the small town Fire Department down the way... I think they are also going to make it into a brush truck.

O-ring kit for hydraulic control panel knobs?

Working in industry, o-rings like seals and bearings are more or less standard for size. When it comes to o rings the biggest difference is what they are made our of. EPDM, Viton, Silicone, Buna-N, PTFE, FEP, Neoprene, Kalrez, ect... If you have one in hand you can go to a place like McMaster...

To turbo or not to turbo 6.2 Diesel?

The Banks kit is awesome! However you will not want to abuse your engine after you install the kit. The 6.2 bottom end and crank is not the strongest thing and I have see a few turbo engines that blew the bottom end out. The m1009 would be really nice with a banks as long as you are not hot...

FOUND! Stolen M939 out of Monroe Washington

Got a text from a friend saying that yesterday someone stole a M939 from the corner of Old Owens and Highway 2. It was in the parking lot behind the Bank of America. It belonged to husband and wife who own Armageddon Arms. Now this is a firearm store that is also located in the same parking...

What all is in "annual service kits"?

Yes sir I too have seen people replace non leaking seals (on just about anythng) to end up with problems. They fixed it till it was broke... Installing seals properly isn't as easy as people think. Maybe the thinking is FMTV crossfit gym for some.

Finally got some off road time M1079

I think I like camping in the dry better than wet. Heck one of those pictures above was on a dry lake bead in Nevada. Don't think you can get much drier. :) I do love the "dry" side of the state but I am on the "wet" side. Heck this year has been the wet and snowy side... Some pictures from...
