New radiator
new fuel filter base
$1300 in Toyo tires
new belts
new radiator hoses
new heater hoses
ordered new glow plugs (only 3 working)
converted glow plug relay to 12 volts
Future:
Herculiner in bed and cab
Fix tanny leak
Fix power steering leak
Up gear ratio in axels so I can go 65 mph on...
The spin on sounds great. But what about the wires that go to the original fuel filter base? I keep asking every time I see the spin on filter being discussed. But so far no one has told me what they did about the sensors or whatever all those wires go to.
What kind of prep work is involved? I have 2 Hurculiner kits for my 1008. I want to do the cab and the bed. I haven't red the directions yet. I'm hoping I have enough for the sides and the top edge of the bed. Then I can put my troop seats on without wrecking the paint.
I left the military plug exactly as it was.
Since the service lights are 12v, I added the 7 pin civ tow package. If you buy a kit it wires in to the existing system pretty easily. I also had a towing receiver added under the bumper. In effect, civilian hitch and wiring was added without...
TM 9-2320-289-20 page 3-53: There are supposed to be seals (4) on plugs (5) and (17). Maybe I don't need a new filter base. Maybe I just need seals on the plugs.
Since my seals are completely missing, can somebody tell me what they are supposed to be...o rings? What size?
Wouldn't it be...

Seems like I never noticed until we went to the desert. Since then, there's always been a mix match of different colored rims. I drove a tan truck during desert storm which had black green and tan wheels.
Any update? I have the air in the fuel line problem. I've made some improvements by tightening hose clamps. But I can see my fuel pump and filter base plate both have problems. I haven't got around to replacing them yet.
I've seen your vids on youtube. Very inspiring. I believe your truck definately qualifies as badass.
But I'm curius about some of your profile pics. Is it recommended to park the truck on its side like that? I suppose it helps to relieve pressure on the suspension?
You probably have air getting into your fuel line. This will be unralated to the electrical problems. The reason it takes so long to crank is you are cranking the air out of the fuel line. Once you get fuel to the engine, it will fire then quit. Even once it gets going it will take a few...
When you describe cranking hard:
Do you mean the engine turns over slow?
Or do you mean you have to keep cranking and cranking before the engine will start?
