Im not sure that I would brag about a 10 LITER motor that makes 250hp (a measly 25 hp per liter) and 600 pound feet of torque. It can be probably be modified like most other diesel, but I have not heard great things about the 3208, in fact the exact opposite and I am certain that you dont have...
a 12 valve B Series Cummins will run on **** near anything except probably gasoline... no idea how to make a diesel run on gas
I might be cautious about running on straight ATF or straight waste motor oil, etc for obvious reasons, but the motor would probably burn it...
Appears that the original build thread is dead and gone, unless I am missing something.
Could you please post exterior pics of the truck in its current state?
Thanks
Original thread, page one i think, mentioned putting a 6.2L into a deuce. I found this post last night looking to see how many people had put a 5.9 into a deuce and how they did it, which motor they used, etc.
The Duramax would be cool and might fit better than the inline motor, sounds like you...

DO NOT put a GM 6.2 or 6.5L into a deuce. It was a dog in a suburban and the other trucks that it came in stock. By the time you build a nice one with turbos and intercoolers, etc., you could have done a Cummins.
The only other consideration would be to get a second gen Duramax or...
with a truck that only weighs 10k pounds, you could run passenger car tires on there :D
If you are aired down at trail pressure on a large off road tire like a Super Swamper or Pro Comp or BFG, you are not going to be travelling fast enough to heat up the tires and do any damage to the...
no need to run multiple rams per axle... either run a double ended cylinder or run a single ended cylinder with a tie rod.
Read pirate or any other big off road board, there are tens of thousands of rigs around the country using rear steer and has been for years. Its very simple to do, its not...
if you are using a deuce frame with stock engine location and plan to do something like this
your front passengers would need to be pretty skinny as most of the front seat would be engine. (assuming you didnt swap in a smaller motor like an ISB, lower it in the chassis and/or push it rearward)
2.5 ton driveline will handle the power just fine as long as you dont get crazy with it (hauling heavy loads, rock crawling, etc) Those components are way under rated and will take a beating. If you are concerned you could always get new 16 spline shafts from Ouverson or RCV. The old shafts...
The plant is the joint venture between the two of them and is techically owned by DMAX Ltd, which is a Japanese corporation. Some sources indicate that GM has since sold its interest in DMAX to AmGen to pursue their own diesel power plant:
ISUZU:Isuzu U.S. Engine Plant "DMAX" Built 500,000th...
GM has never owned Isuzu, though they have been stockholders at various levels over the years. They have had a long standing partnership with them and yes the Duramax IS an Isuzu engine. It was built by them for General Motors. The Duramax is not built by GM and is therefore not a GM engine. The...
would be cool to have an F650 or Kodiak cab with the matching bed on a deuce frame, find a wrecked Dodge 2500 and you could even put a real motor in one..
cabs are available here, bed and hood/nose shouldnt be that expensive
HeavyTruckParts.Net - Search for Cab
sure beats the hell out of 100k...

are there a lot of ppl on here from PBB?? I dont think Pirate is unfriendly, but I have been around a while on there... most of the flaming is deserved and the atmosphere there is how a lot of my friends and I act in real life, i.e. if someone does something stupid, you will be laughed at and...
thanks guys, i think i will be fine and probably wont even post that much to be honest, just like reading the site and learning about some of the military and history stuff..

Cheers
Thanks for the info and the welcome.
just for laughs, one forum that i read does not allow editing of any post after 10 minutes have passed and you cant delete posts or threads ever, another does not allow anyone to post links to products or vendors unless they are part of that site, another...

I have been on Pirate4x4 for about 5 years and for those that dont know, there arent a lot of rules and regs over there, pretty much anything goes.
Read through the requirements for...
