    Greetings from Romania!

Welcome from the Mississippi Gulf Coast!

What did you do to your deuce this week?

You're right! Keep one in the trailer too, just in case.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Still getting everything ready just in case the storm season is as bad as they say for August and September. Got one of my generators located and secured and finished loading and securing the first aid box. Also installed a boot for the shifter to keep little rodent critters out of the cab and...

    Rear gerry can mounts

I understand the concerns. Mine aren't made to hold the weight of a can full of fuel. If I need extra fuel, I fill them and then secure them inside the back of the truck...or in the trailer.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Wow! I didn't realize my post would illicit such a response. I would like to thank you all for keeping the discussion/debate civil in tone instead of letting it turn into a "urination competition". I think good points were made by all. You guys are what make Steel Soldiers great.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

They are secured inside when full.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Thanks! I was hesitant at first, but I don't do any off-road driving and it is pretty darned flat down here on the coast. They are held captive in a slot cut into a block of UHMW mounted to mud flap and then held tight by heavy duty Velcro belts and then tied off at the top in case they do...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Been a while since I've visited. Too much "real life" going on! Recently I mounted two new fuel cans behind the back mud flaps. They get moved into the back of the truck when full. I also installed a small truck crane. The pic below was taken before I mounted the electric winch. Once that was...

    Big Surprise!

Last weekend, Cruising The Coast was held along the Mississippi coast. I always try to take advantage of the event (over 6,000 collectors vehicles of all types) to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Foundation. This year I entered my 1968 M35A2 so I could park it in front of my wife's store and...

    Storm Brewing

First chance I've had to post anything. Thanks again for all the input. Ended up taking MOTHER to higher ground and waded back home. Water is about 4-5 feet around my house, which isn't bad compared to the 18 we had during Katrina. My family is safe and my deuce is too! I really am greatful to...

    Storm Brewing

Taking a break. Thanks again for all the input. I was born and raised here so I know the roads and the "usual" bad spots. Not too many changes in elevation down here. I know, it sucks that I haven't read the TM's yet. Between work...and work...there isn't much time left. Maybe someday...maybe...

    Storm Brewing

Just popped inside to get a beer and check in. I can't thank you guys enough for your input. By chance, I just raised the air intake mushroom to just above the hood. Glad to know the 30" guideline. I will do my best to avoid flooded conditions but with a hurricane you just never know. I'll check...

    Storm Brewing

I'll try to make this short. I apologize, but I don't have time for a search. Let me start by stating that my deuce is NOT set up for fording. That being said...I seem to be in the danger zone for soon to be hurricane Isaac. If I HAVE to travel any flooded roads; how deep can it get before I...

    Deep South guy and gals

Definitely interested as long as it doesn't conflict with Cruising the Coast.

    New Guy In MS

Welcome!!! I'm too much of a newbie to be of any use around here...but I CAN tell you that you've come to the right place. Best of luck to ya.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Did "Zerk" duty and addressed a couple of small rust spots. Ordered a new mushroom cap and a head light. Mainly...anything to put off doing yard work!

Aberdeen, WA recovery and my new project.

Congrats! I lived in Aberdeen for almost 10 years. That is pretty country but I had to make my way back to the south. I did bring back a souvenir though...my wife. Stay dry!

    Lets see your DEUCE!

Here's MOTHER after taking some kids on a neighborhood tour. She loves makin' smiles!:-P
  20. SE Jones

    What's your Deuces' name?

"MOTHER" Which stands for: Master Of The Hurricane Evacuation Route. And I think she will be...but I'll be glad to wait to find out.:D
