Be very sure that the locking ring is fully seated prior to putting any air in the tire! If the tire is without any air pressure, it is possible for the ring to become unseated. If so, the ring/rim/tire assembly will come apart catastrophically when air pressure is applied.

There is no retainer on the pump holding the seal in place. It is simply a press fit. As to the coupler, I have no idea. Perhaps a pump shop (most large cities have a few pump shops). I will get into more detail a little later, busy now...

Usually. Mike @ McCoy is the best GL guy to deal with by far. He will go above and beyond to help, that is for sure. I have been lucky in that I have only had to deal with one GL personnel that I would consider a "ding-dong". But then again, I don't plan on getting anything else from MI anyway.
