Welcome to SS.
Sorry I don't know of any salvage yards here myself, but perhaps someone will chime in. I don't really follow the smaller stuff so much.
Good to see another "local" guy here.
You proved to have some real guts on that recovery! Any pics?
While I was recovering the last M105A2, I decided to take a short detour.
I have been past this particular VFW several times, but haven't stopped since I was a kid. Shot a few pictures for you all, I figured some of the guys here might appreciate them.
Sign says it is a "Fried Krupp" 15 cm...
kc5mzd, mine was right behind yours with the busted tail light and the bent frame.
I am not getting anywhere with GL, so far it is "the only thing you could have done is leave the trailer, and you would get a credit next time".
Since I went ahead and picked the trailer up, I have no recourse...
You lucky dog reb!
I was bidding on that M313, and got busy on the last day of the auction. Figured I would bid on it on the last day.
What are your plans for it, if you don't mind me asking.
I can guarantee that it does not look like that. Mine had the sides on it too in the pic, but when I picked it up, it was full of busted up wood and bent metal.
None of them had the sides on them where they are currently located. Yours may have the sides in the back, but i don't recall.
No forklift.
I had to yank mine out sideways with chains to get it out of the stack, luckily mine was on the edge.
Take a few extra straps, as some of them (mine included) had no bolts holding the bed on.
Also bring extra lug nuts, a few had only two per side.
