Swing Pedal Adjustments - Anyone done this?

Thanks, hopefully mine does not need as much TLC. It does look like quite the complex linkage per the maintenance manual.

Mine was that way until recently when I got the hydraulics working and had a geyser of fluid spraying anything within about 20 feet. If I can find a place that will do it, I plan to have them cut the weather section off and crimp on new ends.

Swing Pedal Adjustments - Anyone done this?

I have been noticing that the left swing pedal on my SEE has lost a lot of travel. It makes it diffcult to do controlled swings left. The right pedal has full range of travel but the left side has far less and the pedal sits lower. Anyone attempted adjustment? Looking at the tech manual...

FLU419 front loader hydraulic pump issues.

I agree entirely, ultimately you need the right belt and may need to clean off the rust on the pulley faces from years of sitting (many SEEs seem to loose their hoods so the belts and pulleys are sitting outside). Even if the old pump is bad, you need to clean out the hydraulic system of...

FLU419 front loader hydraulic pump issues.

For some reason, the Germans rarely ship to the US thus the Atkinson Vos suggestion AV is in England. The alternative is to use a reshipping service. The package gets sent to German address and then is reshipped to a US address. It works but costs more. I have bought several large items from AV...

FLU419 front loader hydraulic pump issues.

A quick look at Atkinson and Vos in England shows several options. Hydraulic Systems | Atkinson Vos (unimogs.co.uk) They are usually easier to deal with than the German sellers. Note the English calls the 406 series a U900 a SEE is the end of the 406 series so it may have the 1300L pump.

FLU419 front loader hydraulic pump issues.

Yup thats the one I see on sale on German Ebay on occasion. I think they go in the $500 range.

FLU419 front loader hydraulic pump issues.

I see stock pumps for sale on Ebay out of Germany Frequently. Or try Atkinson and VOS out of England. I believe but have verified that that pump was supplied by Mercedes Benz out of the factory and was not an upfit component installed in the US. Its a pump made Eckerle in Germany. My experience...

FLU419 front loader hydraulic pump issues.

FWIW there is safety relief valve on the loader crossarm that limits the loader circuit hydraulic pressure. Some folks have suggested cranking up the setting to get more capacity out of the loader and at least one individual claims to have done so. The hoses are not rated for higher pressure...

Yup, same place, I bought mine from someone who had bought several pairs from that place I believe, it saved me the hassle of getting mine shipped to my house and having to wait around when I was working mostly out of town. Obviously make sure the date codes are relatively recent. A tire...

There is a store on Ebay that sells new ex military Pirelli Pistas in the stock size, they make a big difference for on road use compared to the Michelins.

    Boom Cylinder Lip Seal Direction

Thanks for the confirmation from a fellow SEE owner. Unlike most worn out old equipment most of our SEEs have little or no hours and something like a seal is probably going to last a long time before they wear out. I thought the wiper seal which is exposed to the outside would be shot but its a...

    U1300L’s

Not sure which one you are referring to. George at Unimog Center is still around. His inventory varies depending on how often he makes it to Europe. As for Vermont Unimog, I have been interested in Unimogs for 10 plus years and tried contacting them for several ears, to date they have never...

    U1300L’s

Bought mine from Geroge at the Unimog Center in NH. UnimogCenter – Unimog information, specs and for sale The picture is from when he brought in several of the ambulances. He used to the German auctions and only bought them if he liked what he saw. He sells them all over the US. Vermont...

Boom Cylinder Seals - Do the cylinders need to be removed to change seals or can they be done in place?

Some notes and observations from my recent rebuild. Yes you can rebuild the boom cylinders in place but there are some tricks. I left the cylinder end bolted up and removed the rod end. One issue is that the play in the rod end where it fits over the pin on the boom is quite tight and trying to...

    Boom Cylinder Lip Seal Direction

Thanks, you confirmed my research. I just got it back together again. I had made up my mind to flip it and then found a You Tube video on a rebuild a very similar Case loader that made up my mind. I used Loctite blue on the threads of the big screw. I am glad I had long threaded rod in stock...

    Boom Cylinder Lip Seal Direction

My SEE has had a persistent hydraulic leak out around one of the boom cylinders since I got it. It has always worked but has been a housekeeping issue as it leaks 365 days a year even when sitting all winter. Lately I have been doing some "hardcore" digging in the local rocky soil and noticed...
