I get the flu on Wednesday

It definitely sounds like you need to go through it for the normal issues. The operations manual has very good section on routine maintenance where you start on one corner and work your way around the rig. Yes the fuel system is going to take some time to debug. Assuming you cleaned the fuel...

I get the flu on Wednesday

At least you got a hood. Many of them get lost over the years. Worst case Unimog Parts & Service | VonsMog has fiberglass hoods over in western New York. If you are near the Me NH border I have a SEE up in Gorham NH and George has at least one SEE down in Effingham NH (his is nicer than mine)

    FLU 419 Model Variations

No need on my account, not planning to make a swap anytime soon. MB94 accessories seem to be in big demand by MB94 owners so i doubt I will run into any up north as the municipal units that were around rusted out 20 years ago.

    FLU 419 Model Variations

Okay, I misunderstood, you swapped the entire assembly not just the blade. I did not know that the MB94 used the same standard mount. I have seen references in the past that folks had bought SEE accessories for the MB-94 and the mounts were different?. I guess like anything Unimog there is no...

    FLU 419 Model Variations

So is the Schmidt dozer blade bolted to high mobility forklift structure?. I have only been in Mog world for 5 years but I have not seen any bulldozer blades except for the couple of videos on the HME variant. Is your bulldozer blade from the MB-94 variant (SEE predecessor) that had a bevy of...

    FLU 419 Model Variations

IMHO, I dont see a major collector market for a HMMH, if you are like FLUfarm and use it enough to justify its existence then its worth keeping but keeping it an investment in hopes of future appreciation you are lot better of buying a few mutual funds. TIhe other issue is HMMH specific spares...

    BFR's Floozy

By the way, the electrical schematic in the student handout is low resolution and has a fold in the center. Look up this link https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/unimog-flu-419-see-wiring-diagram.168054/ Its a much higher resolution. Transfer it to thumb drive and a local Staples should be...

Moving a SEE With Loader Down

One the bucket is up, pull two hitch pins (one on each arm), rotate the stops down and put the two hitch pins back in. There is a slight possibility that the locks could be painted in place. If I remember correctly my stops did not want to rotate down without persuasion when I got it. Once I...

    Unimog Shocking My Dog

We did the pet fence for my friends two dogs over a three acre field, one was a PITA smart Australian Shepherd, the other was a laid back German Shepherd. The German didnt need a fence except that it followed the Aussie. The Aussie was always checking the fence, if the power was off or the line...

    Where to buy?

I agree the auctions are over so you are looking at private sales.C&C Equipment stil gets them on occasion but they ask 23K plus shipping. The problem you get with any SEE purchase is its complex vehicle that a typical mechanic would not be trained to inspect. The Operations manual which is...

    FLU419 Fire Extinguisher

FYI If you fire a BC near the intake, its very expensive clean up as you most likely need to pull the head on the engine.

    Unimog Shocking My Dog

Years ago before David Letterman had a show at night he had daytime show right after the Today show in the morning. It was the same Letterman humor but just didnt go that well in daytime and was canceled fairly quickly. I was in college so several us us would get together and watch it. One day...

    Recommendations - FLU419 review for purchase ?

I routinely move my SEE with the air pressure below its low setpoint with the master alarm light on. I am usually backing it out of its parking space and going quite slow and am not using the brakes a lot until the pressure is coming up. As I mentioned I have at least one known leak on my air...

    Recommendations - FLU419 review for purchase ?

Yes there are many hard to get at components up around the transmission that may require a cab tilt. I haven't bought any and guess is most of the crap in the air line stays down low near the air tanks. The brake booster is $1,000 bucks plus or minus a few hundred. They are available but seem...

    Recommendations - FLU419 review for purchase ?

Yes its a flaw in the design. Mercedes didnt install an air dryer on this series and the engine compressor can dump a lot of water into the air system. The spit valve on the pressure regulator isnt very large so water can get carried over to the crossover pipe and its a relative low point and...

    Recommendations - FLU419 review for purchase ?

I have had some issues with copper nickel tubing in this application. It holds but I have had slight air leaks at the fittings. The original steel lines are harder than copper nickel and my guess is that the Parker AN(?) ( I long ago started a thread on the proper fitting) fittings swedging...

    Recommendations - FLU419 review for purchase ?

One of the members on the forum is making new stainless steel cross body air lines with the correct fittings. I am not shilling for him. I actually chased down the correct fittings and put in copper nickel tubing. The line rots from the inside out, looks like clogged artery when cut off. This...

    Recommendations - FLU419 review for purchase ?

My multiple cents Air system is my number one. The majority of the SEE is air assisted and the fording system pressurizes the front and rear end axles. The differential locks are air powered. Plan on taking it apart and cleaning all the crap in the system. Plan on replacing the cross body air...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Time for some "tough love". This repair has been documented multiple times on this thread. yes it is monster thread but if you buy a SEE, there is much useful stuff on it. Bite the bullet and go through the entire thread. Take notes on where you see items of interest and note the post numbers...

Using my SEE for real work

Someone suggested just cutting off the exposed section of the hose on the reel and cutting it there. Sunlight is the big destroyer of hoses so the rest of the hose that is not in the sun should have longer l life.
