    AWD and Slip

Just paying devils advocate here: Couldn't you use a hall effect speed sensor and a couple of small magnets glued to the wheel for a simple and cheap solution?

Any more thoughts on this Ron? I think it would be awesome!

    Snow chains on FMTV tires

I have Koenig Rallye chains for sale in the classifieds. They seem to be far enough away from the rim to not be an issue.

What jack stands do you use….. looking cheap….

I'm going to go with bright minds think alike 😆 I may do a thread at some point but the sun shield isn't totally done yet. I can tell you that I built it myself and it also goes up and down with pneumatic actuators that I incorporated into the roof rack when I built that. More to come!

What jack stands do you use….. looking cheap….

I use 6 ton for the front and 3 ton in the rear with 4x12 blocks to add more height. Works great. Sat like that for at least a month while I painted the frame and undercarriage. Actually it was even longer, because the wheels were at the powder coater for months! Also, It's on an incline!

    Charging Failiure

yes, it might be too thick. I can't do a center console because my kids sit in the middle

    Charging Failiure

Thanks Ron. The lighting load should be even less since it's all LED now and my plan would be to remove the evaporator from the unit and slide it under the heater core in the original unit, if it will fit.

    Charging Failiure

Came across this 24v A/C compressor while researching cheaper A/C systems. It says 60 amps and now Im wondering if the Delco 100 amp alternator would run this and charge the two group 31 wet cell batteries (plus the regular things)? Sure would be a lot easier to install and cheaper!

    Charging Failiure

I did see that, but haven't looked into it. I do have some LIFpo house batteries on a tray under the bed, for camping, but they're only 200ah. I was planning on changing them, when on the road, using the 24v system and attaching it to the solar charge controller, instead of the solar panels...

    Charging Failiure

Thanks. Painless wiring p/n#30204. They have been working great. I have 2 extra of them if you're interested

Thanks, I'm really happy with it and thanks for the idea!

    Charging Failiure

I just did the conversion to a Delco 33I alternator, 24v and 100amps. I already had a Bussman 100A converter/equalizer that I was using to equalize the two batteries (as soon as they were connected in series, the one battery would drain the other down). Rather than an ignition switch, I...

    2way check valve

No, the gladhands aren't capped but I did find the cover for the service gladhand had the vent plugged up! No the gladhands aren't capped and I've already cleaned the shuttle valves in the 2way check valves under the left cab. But I did find the service gladhand cover had the vent hole plugged...

    2way check valve

Well that sounds like what it is, so I guess it's supposed to vent out the bottom? The problem I have is when I drive up my driveway and then roll back down in neutral the front service brakes (and possibly the rear, but I've only checked the front) lock up. I verified this by jacking up one...

    2way check valve

Can I replace this plastic 2way check valve found behind the front bumper with one of the Haldex type 2way check valves found under the left side cab?

    Beginning the Journey

Nice job, hope it works out for you! I think you are on the right track. No such thing as to much insulation! Will be doing something similar sometime in the future.
