    Studebaker deuce

Converted Stude Is this the same unit that was offered for bid on EBay a couple weeks ago? It had both plates - the original gasser data plate looked like it had been riveted to the inside of the door or maybe the glove box. Just curious

looking for a simple little part

Saturn Surplus has 'em... $6.50 according to their web site Bob

    A very rare deuce

Looked at the listing, the data plate has AM General on it. It looks to be diesel, not a gasser which would be a '53 Reo or Stude. Did AM refurb some old gassers? It has the intake mushroom, which the gasser does not. Interesting...

    M36 again -

Hey guy, long time, no chat. Well, I'm back at the M36 again - been busy with a 1959 Britich Ford Anglia... about to go to paint. Anyway, bought the M36 about a year ago still don't have it regged. No data plate. M36 - 142046 is on the frame. OA331 6 cylinder gasses. It was overhauled...

    Truck Nuts ?

Ditto, ditto , ditto... we see all kinds out here from the glory guys rock crawling with $75k tube-frame spider rigs to kids who hacked up the sheet metal on their mom's old cherokee and lifted it with inverted lowrider blocks (argh). Natural selection at work... and remember, there are no...

    Mirrors

Hey guys, I'm missing a couple of the adjustment nuts on my mirror supports on the M36 - anybody ever see or know of a source for these? Anyone got some take-offs? Much appreciated - Bob

    Battery cutoff switch

If you go to www.summintracing.com or jegs.com you'll find remote cutoffs there for racers. They are required at the track. There is a switch from Flaming River products with an 18" remote T-handle that would allow mounting insude the firewall and extending through the dash panel.

    Truck ID. Help!!!

I keep hearing this rumor of a date code on the frame in front or behind the shock mount, passenger side. Well, I have yet to find it and I've just about stripped the whole framerail looking. Where is it hidding? Is it on the vertical of the framerail of maybe on the edge? What is the format...

    Top Bows

Maccus - yup thats my M36 - no holes in cross bar or windshield frame... vintage. The pic is excellent thanks. Joe, have been to your web site - cool stuff. Definitely interested in the take-offs at that price, great. Do you think you might be able to give me spacings on the holes I need to...

    Top Bows

A question about cab top bows - my M36 has the two folding cross bows across the back of the cab but does not have anything runnung in the other direction. I see Saturn has a top (mine's missing) with three supplemental bows. I can't figure out how or where these would attach. Did the older...

    A word on deuce TMs

There is a set for sale on Ebay ORD 7 SNL G-742, ORD 8-9 SNL G-742, would these be useful or are they too old?

    Fair price for a dropside?

Has anyone ever seen one for an M36? How are you guys shipping these things, or is it a mandatory road trip? I've got just the 17.5' behind the cab and was thinking about putting on a bed from an M35 (12') and using the balance for a 5'X8' work cab or utility bed for a welder, etc. I've never...

    A word on deuce TMs

I have an M36, not an M36A1 or M36A2, but an original with a REO OA331 gasser, what manual has info on the gassers, is it the TM 9-8022? I have been having a devil of a time finding anything. There are a couple of TM on ebay that look old enough but I want to be sure I'm getting the right one...

    Hardtop

I like the hard tops, but the canvas is cool too. Got neither right now, as I just picked up the rig and its sans a lid. Here in the desert, I gotta believe canvas is the way to go vs. vinyl. But, like others, I want to do the desert scheme and sand colored tops are nowhere to be found. I've...

    Gasser

OK guys, so I have a fairly rare M36 longbed, but its a gasser, OA331 6 cylinder. Is this worth hanging on to? Should I swap in a diesel? Should I unload it and look for a newer M35A2 with a diesel? Thoughts... Buy the way, cranked it up, runs good, sounds OK but might need the tappets...

    Date codes

Still having problems dating the M36 gasser. Saw a post that indicated a date code on the axle. Where might one look on a Rockwell to fin a date code? Thanks. Bob
