    53's on an LMTV

Below are the pictures of a GoodYear 16R20 in the XL (AT) pattern (which I assume is the same pattern we are talking about, because these look a little different), but they have 4 lugs running accross the tread area, and the ones pictured on the BRAZO only have 3. Leading me to believe they...

    53's on an LMTV

It might be a Brazo, but those are 16.00R20's. There is a set identical sitting outside the COF next door that they use for PT. I will take of picture of the tires tonight when I leave for the gym. The 14R20 is not quite so wide.

    53's on an LMTV

The pictures are big help, that is exactly what my tape measure showed as well. Might be a little tight while turning, but space could be made. I was thinking a simple solution for the back mud flap would be to just mount it on the other side of the bracket, or just make a "soft one" like we use...

    53's on an LMTV

I'm not sure that I would want to use the truck in an environment where I needed chains again. I have lived and worked in Northern Vermont, Northern NY (the real north, at the Canadian border and not just barely north of NYC) and Colorado. I have been an Active Duty Army Engineer in winter...

    53's on an LMTV

I don't really understand what you mean Suprman. The axle is not going to move when I install the 16r20's, so wouldn't the center of the wheel be in the same relation with the frame and cab when I install the larger tire? So my measurement (at about 26.5") is representative of where the 53" tire...

    53's on an LMTV

I am still trying to figure this out, will it rub/interfere at full turn on the frame or steering? I didn't think the 16r20's were that much wider of tire. If I were to hit anywhere it would be on that little piece of fiberglass fender that I could trim (especially since the corner pictured is...

    53's on an LMTV

Would really like to hear what happened and how this turned out. Did you end up with 16.00R20's on the truck. Looking at replacing my tires soon, and seriously hoping the 16.00R20's were a good fit. The little bump in road speed is all I'm after, really just in search of a more comfortable...

    M1081 seats

I have these from 1078 available. One seat is faded, the other bottom cushion and cover are rough. But the back is brand new. I am located in Augusta. If you are interested please send me an offer.

    M1079 Power to the Box

I would second the last. A set of 12/24V LED's run off the trucks (4, in your case AGM) batteries would be convenient and efficient. Any outing, any time the lights will work. Otherwise you will be in the dark unless you are plugged in to a 120V source. Exterior LED area lighting off the box...

    New england area to SE

I have my LMTV in VT that needs to come south. Specifically from St. Albans VT, 05478 to Grovetown GA, 30813. I will be in VT on and around the 3rd for a funeral and can drive the truck to meet you in MA and then meet you in TN later on to drive the rest of the way to GA. The truck is...

My LMTV went to work the other day...

Any pics of you driving through 3' of snow? love seeing adventure pics.

    LMTV arrived

I agree with the previous. I usually get excited about a truck with what I consider the "correct" mileage. Where it would appear that is been driven and used regularly, in my mind, this is this truck that has always ran or at least kept in running order. For me, it has been the case that these...

    4x4 vs 6x6

The consideration to have a 6x6 for better "off road ability" in sand, is quickly negated if you happen to have 2 trucks which have the ability to pull one another out. The ability to add lockers is now a possibility as well with a member on the forum selling them, which would make the 4x4 that...

    LMTV LED Marker Lights upgrade?

Just shy of 50 hrs, this will be the second NY/VT winter they will be on. Have probably 200 hours on the ones in the camper if that is helpful. They are used interior though, so no exposure to the elements or any harsh vibrations.

    LMTV LED Marker Lights upgrade?

I have had good luck with some Amazon specials B5 replacement LED bulbs, similar to Derrickl122. I was looking for interior bulbs for my camper, and came across a deal on 20 of the bulbs for $10.

    Keith's M1078A1 Project Overland

The lock down bar on the airbag is pretty common problem only because of human error. I had 6 MTV variants in my platoon, and found that 4 of the trucks had this problem. Including the one I own. For some reason the soldiers or mechanics would put the travel lock pin in and drive with one or...

License plate frame with LED lights...use on LMTV

Your experience may vary, but I found mine without having to open the rear "loom". It was zip tied and doubled over behind the turn signal. Probably wouldn't have found it right away if I had not un-bolted the light when I re painted the bumper. When I first found it, I spent 10 min trying to...

    LMTV Upgrades

I managed to get the winch off a scrapped MRAP with the mounting plate, and the plate fits between the frame rails of the LMTV. Going to pull the bumper and use the mounting holes in frame that the tow points use, add a heavy duty angle bracket to each side of the frame that will allow me to use...
