    MEP802A & MEP803A winterization kits

What our cold weather isn't good enough!! LOL Not sure on the military's rationale on winterized equipment requirements, but just hoping to find one from a Guard unit or northern states post.

    MEP802A & MEP803A winterization kits

My MEP802A on a trailer came from Ft Drum with less than 10 hours on it. Would have been nice to have that one equipped for CW environments.

    MEP802A & MEP803A winterization kits

Your semi device sounds similar in function. I'm just looking for a new or used takeoff to install on my 802A and 803A. Something to switch on for awhile before use. Nice to have when it suddenly dips to-35.

    MEP802A & MEP803A winterization kits

Anyone out there know where I can get winterization kits for an 802A & 803A? NSN 6115-01-476-8973 NSN 6115-01-477-0564 respectively. Anybody have any positive/negative experience with these?

    MEP802A water in crankcase

Good to go In my infinite wisdom today I learned the difference between a fuel injector and a fuel injector pump. What I had done previously was take out the fuel injector pumps and not the fuel injectors when I attempted to rotate the crank which did not work. When I did take them out the...

    MEP802A water in crankcase

Guyfang, I tried that and it will only rotate about 3/4 turn. I'm going to pull the head and check out the top half.

    MEP802A water in crankcase

No I didn't crank it with the injectors out. They were in. When I had the injectors out before I could not turn the crank a full rotation. I'm thinking of pulling the head to look further.

    MEP802A water in crankcase

The crankcase quit seeping the 50/50 mix and I sopped out the remaining fluid out of the exhaust port. I have found no indications of water anywhere. I pulled the injectors and they seemed fine with no rust or water. I finally got the optima batteries charged up and installed them. I tried the...

    MEP802A water in crankcase

Korgoth1, I believe it does hydrolock, I turn the crank until it stops then go back the other way. I did this numerous times. I checked this morning and very little seeped through into the crankcase and drained out. I'll pull the injectors and rotate the crank some more. Daybreak, If/when the...

    MEP802A water in crankcase

Ike, when I crank this up I was thinking of using some pipe fittings on the muffler to redirect the blast residue in a manageable direction. But without an appropriately fitted flange and plumbing enabling me to bypass the muffler and bolt directly onto the exhaust manifold, what will happen...

    MEP802A water in crankcase

Update: I got most of the ice/water out of the crankcase and removed the bottom plug to get the last remaining gray sludge out. Poured 1qt of 50/50 ATF and Mystery oil into the exhaust port and turned the crank with no problems. I cranked it back and forth to work it into the engine several...

    MEP802A water in crankcase

I picked up some ATF and Mystery oil today to do just that. Did your unit run after you got it cleaned out?

    MEP802A water in crankcase

That's unknown at this point if the block is cracked or not. It did not appear frozen solid when it got to me. Nothing showing on the outside as far as leaks go. I Won't know till all the ice has melted out and I refill with fresh oil. I'll fill exhaust ports with ATF and Mystery oil and let...

    MEP802A water in crankcase

I have a flood light lamp in there as of this morning and it's slowly melting out, it's forecasted to hit 43 degrees today....it's nice here last few weeks so it okay to be working outside on this.

    MEP802A water in crankcase

The radiator coolant is green and not draining into the crankcase. I believe the source of the water is from the lack of an exhaust flapper so that left it open to the elements....for how long I don't know..but there is plenty of water inside which has partially frozen..working on getting that...

    MEP802A water in crankcase

Korgoth1, Thanks for the response. I have not tried to turn it over yet. I'm still draining the crankcase of frozen water and oil. Don't have a heated shop to put it in so this will be a slow going project for now. I'll pull the head and thinking about pulling the crank plate as well. Heard some...

Beginner Mep-802a owner with water in exhaust has questions

Ratch, did you ever get your unit to run? I just picked one up from auction with the same problem. Hope your method will work for mine. I'll give it a try soon. Need warmer weather to melt the ice inside.....

    MEP802A water in crankcase

I just picked up a 2009 MEP802A with water in the crankcase oil. The meter reads 8hrs and appears to have little use. Does anybody have any experience in resurrecting an engine with this problem? I'd greatly appreciate some guidance.

    MEP-802A spare parts!

I'm looking for the exhaust "flapper" mounted on top of the housing if anybody has an extra.
