Looking for a speedometer gearbox from a trashed transmission

My 1300L is in need of the small adapter gearbox that goes on the end of the speedometer cable where it attaches to the transmission. Its a small rectangular box that has two outputs ,one capped and one connected to a speedo cable with one input from the transmission. Its used to adjust the...

    FLU419 rear axle problems

Time to make a post on Benz World. That axle is used in a lot of models and someone out there probably has run into it before.

    FLU-419 Tire Opinions - 14.5R20?

I switched to the same size Pirelli Pistas which were available new surplus on Ebay. I got mine from a Unimog dealer that had picked up some takeoffs. They have stiffer sidewalls. I swapped them myself and they were a bit harder to seat until I picked up a bead blaster.

    MRAP Lighting on M925A2

https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/eyecon-rg33-mrap-lighting-kit-install-manual.149614/ Steel Soldiers has a pretty good advanced search feature. I did a search of the Misc Technical Forums for Eyecon and it popped up. BTW, I did get the wiring diagram abut 80% complete but its not user...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Have fun. Scott at EI referred me to a retired Unimog mechanic, Tony ? in his area a few years back. I give him a call about some work on a 1300 and he mentioned that he was previously a Case MB94 mechanic and was there during the trials for the SEE. He spent his subsequent career teaching...

I see on Unimog Exchange that he has listed it as sold. Someone got a nice buy despite the potential logistical hassle.

    Cold Weather Starting Tricks ?

i think its this Stanadyne product https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/stanadyne-diesel-fuel-injector-cleaner-16-oz I previously would pump the primer until the air was out of the filters and usually pumped several times after that. This year I probably pumped 50 times until I heard the...

    Cold Weather Starting Tricks ?

Spring #4 success! George at Unimog Center may not be SEE expert but he is a Unimog expert (he has a SEE for personal use and has sold one in the past) . He had suggested at one point last summer that the OM 352 fuel injection pump has an internal "check valve" that retains fuel in the fuel...

Bosch injection pumps are used in a lot of equipment. You may be able to get parts from a Bosch dealer. I havent taken my pump off but copper crush washers are available in standard assortments. The folks at Belmetrics are not Bosch injection pump folks but they are Unimog owners and may have...

    Loud bangs while operating backhoe

I agreed with your concept but when I went through the wiring harness repairs prior to having access to the wiring diagram (thank you Captain Hood !) I found that having the laptop out on the table next to the mog and using the search mode on the PDFs was the way to go. If I was planning a...

    Loud bangs while operating backhoe

https://expedition-imports.com/419docs I think that's I the set except student manual and the excerpts from the tech bulletins that are stored in the misc tech manuals on this site (Steel Soldiers). When I was doing my major rewiring exercise I had them loaded on laptop and would do PDF...

I gutted mine and plugged it so it did not leak. It was full of grit from a broken reservoir.

I looked at that, the key is not to make a bend that can possibly trap water upstream of the alcohol injector. I did not find a good way to do that. If I did end up with low point I would need to put a drain in it.

I still havent made the conversion to an air dryer but have all the major parts but have not spent the time to get all the adapter fittings for the piping. My newer 1300 series ex German military came stock with an air dryer but I think it still has an alcohol injector. My limited unstanding is...

Have them made up by a good hydraulic supply house. Its highly likely that any NOS hoses have been sitting on shelves for 30 years in unknown conditions. There are better hoses made today than 30 years ago. Sure, separate hoses that might fit pop up on Ebay on occasion but many of the folks...

    Unimog SEE FLU-419 Winch question

That photo pops up on this thread on another forum on FLU 419 implements https://www.benzworld.org/threads/never-say-never-with-unimog-implement-mount.2465177/ My guess is its one off mount for the military. Some one with the right fab gear can make up the plate that mounts to the military...

Remember, if you are running the SEE below freezing you need to fill the alcohol bottle (assuming its not smashed) and turn the valve on at the alcohol injector. Other wise you are risking a freezeup in the air system.

I have not used it but I swear its set up to automatically inject ether no matter where the switch is set if the temp is below a certain setpoint. I think the switch just adds an extra dose. I did check with the Napa warehouse a year ago and they stocked it so any dealer they ship to could get...
