I might use something like this instead (or a beefier version)

Yes, the disconnect broke so the terminal still had the locking collar on it, but it was broken at the thinnest portion of the casting. I used the word short because I saw sparking at this touching joint and feared that it shorted out one of the pumps (or the inline EMI filter).
This is my...
Ran the 002A for about two hours earlier (haven't put the new oil pressure switch in... was planning that later today) to charge up the batteries a bit. Was holding a 30-50% load the whole time, and I started to turn off the items in the house. It was down to minimal draw when I sat down, put my...
So I've gotten a few minutes this morning to read through the TMs, and I don't see any notes regarding which wire goes onto which post on the switch. As the unit I am putting on this does not match what I took off (exactly), I am unsure of which post takes which lead. Does it matter?
I might be newish here, but certainly not new to how forums and thread moving works (18 years as a moderator at www.ford-trucks.com). If you are looking for volunteers, I'd be happy to help.
Not sure how this forum is set up, but I've been a moderator on a Ford Truck forum for over 15 years... and we have a forum hidden from regular users. It is for moderator and admin discussion about all topics... sometimes creations of new forums too. All the same, would be nice for someone to...
I contacted this seller before, on that unit.. and made them an offer of $75. They came back with a counter of $80. I declined (didn't actually need it)... but its a real good price for a NOS unit.
So the new OPS arrived. It appears this is a straight threaded item (versus tapered thread)... so what do I need to do to ensure proper sealing? Special hydrocarbon resistant thread tape? Nothing but proper tightening spec? How about wiring the leads back up? On this switch are three positions...
Still chugging or have services been restored? Got 8" of snow yesterday here, and its been raining all day at 48 right now. Going to drop to 9 tonight... hoping all that ice takes it easy on us.
Yeah Ive got (3) 55 gal drums of diesel put up... so I probably wouldn't take the genset offline unless I needed to. We do have wood stove heat, but I've lost too many full freezers over the years to justify saving 6 gallons of fuel.
Exactly how difficult is the removal on these things? I don't know if mine are working or not, but I have multiple sets of each for my 002, and was considering just putting new ones in because I can.
Wicked cold snap is due tonight (-20 with wind chill and 60mph gusts).. so doubtful its...
I can't wait for the storm where I can just look at my wife and kids, and smile... and say nothing else. My trusty Honda EB5000 has taken me through 20 years of weather snafus (still runs great, mind you)... but my new toys should make it possible to have no concerns, with the increased ability...
