Safty glasses, nasty gloves, a chain binder to chain down a load, extra starter relay, bottle of tabasco sauce in the glove box unopened, its still there but I'm not eatin it, and some preyer books.
I put oil in mine so I buy less fuel and recycle it but here in Michigan I'm done now due to cool weather setting in. I only mix oil in the summer months by running 1/4 oil per 3/4 of fuel but friend of mine went 50/50 this year. I filter it though an old pair of jeans with the leg tied in a...
Yes the starter is on the right side. You most likely have a bad starter relay under the dash do the Dog Head modification. Put the gear shift selector, thats the chrome thing on the right side of the steering column, in neutral to see if your neutral safety switch/sensor is out of adjustment...
Ron's party store in my home town here in Michigan had the radio box version of this truck behind their store for years they used to drive it in the winter. Same old story my brother in law tried to buy it but they would not sell then one day it was gone said they sold it to a farmer down south...
Usually you are good till your over 6 inches. I have only lifted Ford trucks and my 1009 is stock. I see no reason you couldn't work the areas of contact with a die grinder. Since you are not the only one to lift one of these I would see what others have done if they have run into the same problem.
Obviously check the T/case shift linkage and t/case operation then go after the double carden joint and clearance issues. Looks you are on the right track now.
If you are in 2wd then the front drive shaft is not rotating unless the front hubs are locked. Was the rear lift blocks or springs? If blocks did they have an angle to them or were the spring and axle surface parallel? If the blocks had and angle to them the shorter distance should be in the...
Few questions:
Is the noise present in 4x4 and 4x2 or is it one or the other?
Hubs locked or unlocked does that make a difference?
What's it do in reverse?
As FM5332FF stated check the joints grease will not cover up a worn joint and since your changed the working angles on them the needle...
With engine and trans at operating temp do your WOT stall test for no more than 5 seconds then the put the trans into NEUTRAL and run the engine at 1,000 rpm for about 15 seconds to allow the torque converter to cool off. Stall test stressful on the fluid and convertor as it gets hot fast...
"It is a Ford engine and as far as I know, it was specifically designed for that vehicle(not used in any other vehicle, ever)."
The facts I have (don't ban me from the site) are Ford bought the engines from Continetal its an industrial engine that could have multiple used like portable...
The key to diagnosing any trans concern is to first make sure there are no drivabilty concerns or a worn out engine.
It's your vehicle that I would assume you have been driving for awhile so you would know if it is operating differently than before. As for the 3-4 inch will not climp mine is...
Downrangecop, could you have gotten a bad load of fuel or put gas in it? Raw diesel should be white smoke not dark as described. I'm with Doghead on the properly functioning glow plugs start there.
Disclaimer: This is the method I used to test my glow plugs and resistor. I ended up replacing all my glow plugs with Wellman brand and restested, truck starts fine and the resistor works fine. Use a voltmeter to test the resistor, on the drivers side of the resistor that goes to the glow plugs...
With the service light bulb removed look in the bulb socket, there should be a tab that grounds to the side of the bulb base, those tabs break off and you lose ground. You can get a new socket or just take a piece of short stripped wire, make a U bend in it so it makes contact with the bulb and...
