    Thinking of buying a halftrack

If you're truly serious about buying a half-track my neighbor has one for sale. It's been a year since I've seen it but it looks nice and complete for $25k. I'm no expert on the half-tracks but I believe it's an M3. I'll ask him if I see him this weekend. If I was in the market for one I...

    (2010)Findlay Ohio Military Vehicle Show

There were plenty of antennas there last year. I picked one up myself. I'm assuming you're looking for the AS-1729.

Show & Swap Meet Aug. 29th in Ohio

Much to my chagrin I have a wedding to go to that day as well so I won't be staying the whole day but it should still be a good time.

Mid-Ohio Military Vehicle Show & Swap Meet

I was down there with my M1009 on Saturday and pulled out around 1500 or so. I had it parked next to IronMike's M1009 and a jeep on a trailer that was for sale. Saw some of you guys from the site here and got a good deal on a pup tent from skytroop232 and some radio goodies elsewhere.

    M1009 Whip Antenna Question

Just use the AS-1729 as is. I have two of these on my M1009 with one connected to a functioning RT-524A and the other I will connect up to my Yaesu FT-817 transceiver when I take it with me. The FT-817 will receive on the FM broadcast band and I have no problems at all. I also use the unit...

    Relay chatter under the dash

First off, my M1009 starts and runs fine but every time the glow plugs cycle there's a relay under the dash that does a fast on-off chatter for a split second. When I go to start it I get the usual "wait" light which then goes out and I start it. Then it runs for a bit and the relay then does...

    Holey thread pitch, fuelcan holder!

I just put the Jerry can holder in mine and the bolts I used were just regular 5/16-18. The same was true for the side antenna mounts. I put a little bit of never-seize on the antenna bracket bolts and they went right in. The fuel can holder bolts went in by hand.

Who's going to Findley Ohio this weekend?

I did get oiled by something at Findlay. There are splatter marks on the back of my tailgate from something.

Who's going to Findley Ohio this weekend?

Hey I think I saw you Gimpy, oilcan, and stretch around the Bucyrus area. I was heading west on 30 and you guys were coming off the ramp. Would have followed you guys in but I had to hit up that rest stop up ahead pretty badly.

    Where's Your License Plate?

I've looked at around a half dozen CUCVs now and all of them, including my own, have had the threaded sheet metal inserts stuck in the tail gates. They're the same type they use for the antenna brackets. Granted, there is no light but I'm not too concerned about that. I guess I am curious as...

Best radio set up for a deuce

The range is 30-76MHz which gives 920 channels. You can also tune them in the "red flag" area of the frequency readout area down at 29MHz. Not sure about the area above 76MHz though. The RT-246 is at least as heavy as the RT-524 and the main differences are that the RT-246 has the ability to...

    VRC-12 in M1009

I apologize in advance if this has already been covered before but I just scored a fairly decent looking RT-524 on eBay and now my question is what else I need to put it to use in an M1009. I know I need the following: MT-1029 mounting tray 24V power cable and rack (already have) MX-6707 base...

    A successful recovery

Small world. I live over in Hayesville and I just drove my first green truck, an M1009, home today. It's good to have another CUCV owner close by [thumbzup]
