    Alternator Wires

Thanks you both so much! I will be getting a new excitor plug or "pigtail" with the rebuild kit and make sure that I am getting power out of both of them. I checked the GEN bulb once before, but I found nothing wrong, the bulb was good and the connection wasn't perfect but not terrible either...

    Alternator Wires

My m1009 has been having problems with the passenger side alternator (gen2). I had it tested and it was found to be "bad" by autozone. So I ordered a rebuild kit from cucvelectric.com and now I await its arrivial. my question is about the wires hooked up to the back of the alternator. I...

    Halftrack Deuce

What about the front? It should steer like normal and work like a halftrack right? I could see a really thing track increasing the diameter of the rear tires, causing important parts to break when power is to the front axle.

    Halftrack Deuce

I do NOT own a deuce. However curiosity has got the best of me and I thought I might as well ask. Has anyone, or did the government ever build an on-tire track for the deuce? Something like used on a skidsteer? Would something like this work with the differentials? Or would it be useless because...

Starting system: "Yes" Anything else: "No"

Thanks everyone, I will check all of these the next chance I get at daylight.

Starting system: "Yes" Anything else: "No"

I forgot to mention that after the batteries had been charged, the 09 would not start either. The engine would turn over fast enough, but it just acted as if it wasn't getting any fuel. Is there a solenoid in the fuel system, or the lift pump that may not be getting the appropriate power as well?

Starting system: "Yes" Anything else: "No"

The Diode Trio (I think) went bad in my gen2 (m1009). I replaced it and returned the alternator to its nest. The rear battery was almost dead and did not have enough juice to turn the engine over. So I went to jump start it with another cucv (m1008). I think this is where I went wrong. I...

    CUCV Hood stack

I'm pretty sure its illegal in many states as it is considered an obstruction of vision. Just like a crack in the windshield, or to big of a super charger, or hood scoop. It also might not be that impressive, because you're not gonna get much more than a little puff of black smoke... However, If...

    What has your 6.2 pulled ? MPG's ??

I normally get 20 or so MPG driving in a teenager like way in my m1009 wit 3.08 gears and no overdrive. I towed an m1008 over the hill in Pennsylvania, and it was all the poor blazer could handle, but it got us home with 14-15 MPG.

    M1009 starting issues

To those who were watching this to I apologize, I ended up charging the battery and ignoring the problem until it died again, the other day. I think I may have found the problem after reading this: CUCV alternator symptoms, diagnosis and fix. This sounded like the exact same problem I was...

    Diode Trio Napa part number

I was unable to find the Napa part number for the diode trio on this fantastic website or any where else. I finally made my discovery and thought I'd share for the next person wanting to buy a diode trio from Napa. Diode Trio Napa part number: ECH AD1206 GM part number: 1977064 In the end I...

Has anyone bought an M1009 that doesn't start?

We bought an m1008 listed as not running. We brought it home and $50 later it was running. All it needed was a key, power steering return line, alt belt, and starter relay. The batteries were good.

    Water injection in the 6.2?

Well thank you all for your input! Your discussion definitely topped my education and understanding! (: maybe this is something I should experiment with and get an answer for everyone. Obviously I don't wan to blow up my motor, nor do I want to dump more money Into the vehicle than it is worth...

    Water injection in the 6.2?

Maybe this is a bad idea, but thats why I'm coming here to ask! I have heard of people injecting windshield washer fluid into their intake for a little bit of a boost (because its alcohol based). I have also heard of doing something similar with water. The water expands more than the fuel does...

    Heavier tow-ee than tow-er

You guys are gonna have my head for this but... I am 16 and after alot of research i bought my first vehicle, an m1009 (best decision I ever made). Shortly after, my dads S10 was totaled... he needed a new vehicle and really liked mine and started a little bit of his own research.. before to...

    M1009 Rattle of DOOM!

The latch on one side of the tailgate on my 09 rattles and squeaks and rattles because it doesn't latch correctly. Also when I bought the vehicle the front mounts on the vehicle did not have bolts in them. it made a terrible sound until I fixed it.

I will definitely get to work on this ASAP

    Mixing Brake Fluids

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! As for cucv1833: You can test what you got in there. Either spoon some off the top or use syringe to suck a sample of the fluid floating on top. Then put it in a clear jar with some water and shake it vigorously and let it set for 30 minutes or so.... If...

    Mixing Brake Fluids

I changed out my front brake shoes and was considering buying some brake fluid... I knew something about my m1009 requiring Dot 5 (silicone based) brake fluid. Did a little bit of research and learned how to test the brake fluid in the master cylinder to see if it was Dot 3 or Dot 5. Turns out I...
