My M1009 is a blast to drive daily except for 100+ degrees in NC. Using about 50% veggie helps too. The M880 is dependable and comfortable but eats the gas and no AC.
Deuce is last. If I add power steering and some tunes it might make the trip to work every now and then and running...
I am doing something simple. Trying to add brake fluid. Did a search and downloaded the section of the TM but..... That "vent line" runs to a "T" with brake lines coming out of it. Does the bolt on the resevoir have a swivel on it for the "vent line"? Or do you have to take the vent line...
fixed
Ended up being the red wire on the alternator that started it all. It shorted to the dipstick. Melted the wires all the way back to the ammeter.
Ran all new wires last night and it fired right up. It seems ok. I checked the ohms on the ballast resistor and it seems off but the thing...
You guys are GREAT!! Did a little search and found everything needed. Searched for wipers and found NAPA part numbers and bought new arms and blades. Searched and figured out where the wiper knob is. Searched and figured out how to test the motors.
All back together and working!!!
thanks!!!
Truck has been working great. My daughter got her license. I sent her out on her first solo in the truck. I get a call in a few minutes saying that the truck was dead. No light, no anything. I obviously don't believe her. When I get there in the Deuce and check it out, it is dead!! Tow it...
Everytime I press submit, I remember more stuff.
The gas gauge is not working. I haven't looked into that yet. Horn works but is wired to a momentary switch on the dash.
Leaks. Tranny pan has a slow drip. Tightened bolts when I was under there messing with the starter and it seems to have stopped. Some of the bolts were finger tight.
Underbody is PERFECT!!!
Faded one:
Missing tailgate. Missing Dash but I bought one from Bob H on here. Just waiting for it to show up.
No rust. Looks like all the rubber floor mats and water absorbing insulation was pulled long ago. Body is straight. On strange dent on the top forward part of the bed rail.
New...
Yes, disc brakes are high on the list. Been reading up on that on here. Would like to singles in the rear.
Any recommendations? Wish there was a nice sticky note on EXACTLY what is needed for power steering and disc brakes. What donors are good to steal from....
Just drove the beast to...
Re: RE: picture
Yeah, that one does look bigger. I took measurements on them because of that. The springs are worn on the flat red one.
I listed them on craigs list
$2000 for the shiney red one that needs nothing
$1000 for the dull red that needs stuff...... Lots of things but is...
Got my deuce from Bob today. Nice!!! Loud!!! Getting ready for a few projects already. Steering is tight but would think that power steering is on the top of the mod list. Brakes would be second.
Lots of questions to come.....
I was planning on driving the nicer one from NC to MA to give to my Dad. Well, my mother found out and shut down that plan. My mother in-law says she wants one but that means it will still be parked at my house and I will be expected to fix anything that isn't factory new......
Going to sell...
