    Deuce Rough Terrain Limitations

I figured maybe bobbing the Deuce might help in this aspect since it’s 134” wheelbase becomes almost as short as the CUCV (131” wheelbase same as the fuso) allowing to pick better lines. The hydraulic power-steering would help with this as well maybe? That way you could steer yourself better to...

    Deuce Rough Terrain Limitations

Nice observation on the Fuso’s lockers ;) Thanks for those insights and that picture! I really appreciate it as it got me thinking a bunch. Since some guys on here were reporting their inner tubes slipping on stock rims with aired down 395s, would you say it’s actually best to upgrade from...

    2023 SoCal Spring Rally

Although my paperwork is still being analyzed by the DMV, DirtLegal specializes in registering non-conforming vehicles, I went from never having been issued a title to getting my temporary tags in 3 days! I recommend calling them and they might be able to help you letting you know what you will...

    2023 SoCal Spring Rally

I bought my first bobbed Deuce this weekend and I want to bring it over to the Rally! I hope I can get it titled quick enough to drive down with the truck. I only have a Bill of Sale no title/registration. DirtLegal quoted me 3 weeks going the Montana LLC route. Any quicker suggestions on how...

    M35A2 expedition mini home

Just a thought, these stairs work for 58” entrance height, could you maybe use something like this https://www.etrailer.com/RV-and-Camper-Steps/TorkLift/TLA7846.html and engineer some final step just below your access door in case it ends up too low? I do realize however that this stair sticks...

Anyone See Uncle Si driving the Deuce last week ?

That’s awesome! Did you happen to find any pictures? I think I found that Deuce here in California. Is this the one?

    Deuce Rough Terrain Limitations

Thanks, I appreciate your picture! I haven’t had the chance to see ANYONE put their trucks at angles like this until yours 👍🏽

    Deuce Rough Terrain Limitations

I agree! When it comes to the specific example in the video however, do you think smaller tires and having the 3rd axle + longer wheelbase might improve performance getting over that hump? To me it seemed like the stock Deuce could bottom out and get the driveshaft stuck on that hump.

Am I gonna tear this apart?

Hi! I know it’s been a while but did you end up going for a cabover? Right now I’m in a similar place you were in deciding about the cab. Best example I found was of this guy who installed a reefer box right on the truck frame, no sub-frame. He’s been using it for years now with no issues.

    Deuce Rough Terrain Limitations

Hi guys, after extensive reading on this forum and talking to a few MV owners I’ve been seeing what some of you do off-road with your Deuces. Not that I need to do this with the M35A2, but if I wanted to, what kind of modifications would you do to be comfortable taking your Deuce on terrain...

I like that shelter even more than the M109 shop vans because I can cut out my own windows. I saw one that looked good at Jack’s but didn’t get a picture. A lot of his van bodies showed signs of rust behind the wall panels which makes me feel iffy about building a home to vibrate with heavy...

Your setup is amazing! I appreciate you sharing your experience! What can you fit inside the shelter? Do you mean I will have to carry unexpected parts because I’ll be driving the Deuce? If it comes just to what I already own and use to work, I’m not too worried about storage or space since I...

Yesterday was my last day! 1500 miles, 6 days 3 states and 11 trucks. I spent all day at Jack’s Gov’t Surplus looking at trucks and chatting as one does with Jack. Being around him and his mechanic 70+ year old friends (since I’m a nube) felt like being amongst MV gurus. I also watched them...

This next 1991 M925A2 ($14000) I drove was the best driving, most well taken care of truck I’ve checked out from all of the above. The owner has had it for 4 years and is extremely detailed and confident about maintaining the truck. He knew every little detail about it and offered to help me...

The next day I saw two trucks. They both drove better than all the other trucks I have seen. *I know a lot of you dislike bobbed trucks but I only need a 9ft truck frame for my project, and benefits of a shorter wheelbase outweigh the loss in traction for losing 2 wheels in my particular use...

To be honest I can’t remember feeling grinding, it’s more that getting into gear felt less smooth than other deuces I’ve driven. If I had nothing to compare I probably wouldn’t have noticed.

That ladder is functional but badly bent sadly. I’m sure Jack’s Gov’t Surplus about 1hr away from this one has plenty of those ladders and crank though.
