Great topic and just in time . I am going to strip my 87 silverado ( has dual tanks) and put all the good stuff in/on my m1028. Power windows, dual tanks, door panels , tilt .even get rid of the junky 6.2 and put a real motor..350. .030 over etc..

I'm in the process of doing this.. So what are the suggestions on the heater / water sensor wires? Cnip/ clip? tape'em off ?? whats the best way? Thanks ps also in the picture I see a box on the filter , is that a heater?

PS would a Holly race pump work ok?? I have one on the shelf...

Thanks for this info guys.. My truck is down at the moment and needing a fuel fix... I have 2 questions , sorryif its a repost , 1 If you bypass the manual pump do you just connect the fuel lines at that point or reroute the fuel line from the new electric pump? and 2 I really need the info...

Hey Guys , I noticed my truck wasnt starting very good lately. Now it wont start at all.. turns over really easy and I dont believe its getting fuel... I noticed a drip ( wet area) around the fuel filter housing . I tried to start the truck then looked at the filter area and noticed some fuel...

I'm pretty sure I'll switch to a gas engine. looking at some other peoples post , I see Glow plugs burned out , cracked blocks, injection pumps burned up, yada yada yada.. Thanks for the info guys.

Correction 487K miles... I rebuilt the engine , steel crank, Forged pistons , cross drilled crank, balanced, molly plasma rings, etc ,1003 head gaskets, etc etc. 487k still runs strong. OH and Mobil 1 and dura lube !! I actually sold it to a friend who just passed away and I'm try'iin to buyt...

Hey guys , I could use an opinion , I really hate the 6.2 in my 1028.. Its been a constant problem, every week its something breaking. Whats your opinion on putting a Small Block 350 in it ? Easy swap? worth the switch? Better gas than a diesel...? any majors issues when swapping...
