I will be heading over as soon as Nancy gets off of work tomorrow, around 1530. Should pull into Haspin around 1730. With all of this rain, it's going to be real muddy. A lot different than
the dust bowl from this summer.
Spent the evening getting the M818 ready for the trip to Haspin. I installed a springer seat from another truck replacing the bench seat. It should make the trail ride smoother for Nancy. I need to do some more work before the trip, but it's topped off with fuel, and the M101 trailer is hooked up.
I'm in Dayton, work downtown, live up by Huber Heights. I don't have any trips planned for that way. If anyone from Columbus is heading this way for anything next week, I could meet them and bring it to you at Haspin.
Rob, nope, sorry there are no frames. I have tent covers new in the crate, they did not come with the frames. I picked up a frame from MWMules at the MV show north of Columbus this past summer for my tent. StonePicker has some frames for sale in the classifieds, or you could build a frame yourself.
Let me know who to place a tee shirt order with. I'd like to get one for Nancy and I. We are still finalizing our plans for this weekend, it's either Haspin with the backup 5 ton, or the 2 day drag race at Muncie (with the Camaro, the 5 ton is just too slow for drag racing). Haspin looks like it...
Got the cylinder head off with a buddies help. It's ugly, head is junk, and I going to need to replace 2 pistons and liners.
And yes, it still ran prior to tear down!
I got the rocker box and intake off. Drained the oil, nothing came out from there. Push tubes were all bent on #3 cylinder, one was bent on #4. The exhaust valves on 3, has the dropped on that is all the way down the head, and the other, the valve stem was broke and came out by hand.
JW, yes, I am working on it at my daughter's house where it is. You probably pass it every day going to work. I should be out there tonight, drop by with the new ride, I'd love to check it out.
Thanks for all of the advise with this problem. Indy and cjtroutt I will give you both a call, Will, I have read several of your posts on maintenance of the Cummins, great stuff. I appreciate the assistance that you all have to offer. I am going to drain the oil and pull the head this weekend...
Lastnight I pulled my valve covers to do some trouble shooting on my M818 that AugieDoggy suggested to look for a clogged injector (power balance test). Looks like I dropped a valve on number 3 cylinder, and it's adjuster is gone, the piece that goes between the valves is broken on the other...
The new site looks good. They seem to went with the theme of another large online auction site (E**y) to me. Need to spend some time on it to get used to the new navigation.
