I was changing the gaskets on the coolant crossover today. I had 3 loosened up and when I tried to loosen the 4th, the head snapped right off. Now I have the pleasure of trying to extract it using easy outs/bolt extractors etc.
Does anyone know the part numbers for these bolts? I looked in the...
Hi Everyone,
I did a search looking for the coolant crossover pipe gasket part numbers, but couldn't find much. I looked in the TM's as well, but could only find the steps for replacement but not part no's. Does anyone know what these are? I have a coolant leak on my m1009 and want to change...
i looked long and hard up here in chicago for a civi diesel blazer. they're almost impossible to find, and when I did find them they were swiss cheese. the m1009's typically have less rust and overall they're simpler.
i got everything from rock auto - the window scrapers are easy. However, the seals and felt are in the window track which is tougher. Its an upside down U-shape and you have to pull the vent windows out to get one side of it in. Pulling the vent window is a real SOB.
Hi All,
Over the past month I've done the following to my m1009
-replaced voltmeter
-installed stebel air horn
-changed all fluids/filters
-changed passenger side fender apron ( this was a B - had to drill all the spot welds out of the battery brackets)
-driver/passenger window seals
-cleaned...
glad to hear you think so...i sure do love driving it, but the previous owner has done some stuff that drives me crazy. i know i couldve spent another 4-5 grand and got a really nice one, but then i guess i wouldnt get to turn wrenches as much either.
AWESOME! well if you want to make some extra money and help me put in a rocker one day - let me know.
also - if you've got an extra parts laying around, i may be a buyer for some of those as well.
Hi everyone.
just saying hello from the city of chicago.
I've posted a few times already in the CUCV forum about some things I've been working through on my new to me M1009. I picked it up about a month ago for 2500$ from a guy just outside the city. Its got 1 rusty fender apron, a drivers...
If anyone was interested, I put that ISSPRO gauge in last night and did the Doghead mod. It's plug and play. Although the original voltmeter light only has 1 wire running to it so I'll have to find another way to light the gauge up. Anyways, here is the video. Seems to be working correctly...
bought this one that i found in another thread. Pricy, but it should be a good replacement that reads the correct voltage.

Hi Guys,
I did a search on this but wasn't able to find much. The P.O. of my M1009 put in an aftermarket voltmeter (see attached photo). Everytime I plug it in it pops the 28v fuze. I hooked it directly up to 12v and it pins the meter as well, so I'm sure its set up for 12v not the 24v charging...
i appreciate the help guys. Nice to hear that it probably isn't a crisis. I'll keep an eye on it. For now I have a good running/driving M1009 that im pretty happy with. I'll working on the doghead mod this weekend and trying to clean up the electrical fiasco under the dash from the previous owner.
