2011 Mep 803 wiring for house

I've never seen so much confusion on "grounding". You should only be using 1 ground at a time. Your house is grounded at at the service entrance. Since you are using an interlock and and breaker as your transfer switch, you are only opening both hot legs. Your Neutral is always connected...

    Fuel Gage malfunction

If you have the model number available, it would be great. I can't seem to find any on their site that are 24volt. Though they all state "12/24 volt light adapter kits available." Or I can just call them tomorrow. Thanks again

    803a won't restart

Thank you Howdy I still plan on emptying in the tank and replacing the 2 fuel tank well nuts. The one on the top of the tank looks dry rot...or something. Didn't see the one on the side. Its just falling apart and wouldn't want it leaking at an inopportune time.

    Fuel Gage malfunction

I have an 803a generator with a Beede 945331 gage that is marking past full when powered and just over 3/4 when powered down. TM manual and Beede have testing the gage by grounding out the S terminal...and that should move the gage to E. And with just power on I and Ground it should mark full...

    803a won't restart

Thank you Guy....its getting confusing to me as well. Posted in a couple threads because as I read someone else's issues, it sounds like what might have been my issue. But as of today...my gen decided to run perfectly. So I think posting on this issue is hopefully over. Thanks to you and...

MEP803a looses all compression. Lifter Problem?

Bought the generator with 6hr. I have just over 8hrs on it now. Today it ran 100% perfect. My only concern is the lack of vacuum in the oil filler cap. Had a mechanic that was working on a skid steer look at it....and he wasn't concerned at all. But he has never worked on one of these...

MEP803a looses all compression. Lifter Problem?

Started the gen 30 min ago. Oil pressure was a steady 50. Now it's reading close to 40 (on the gens gage). Ive also been reading that in taking off the oil filler cap there should be enough vaccume to hold a piece of paper to it? That is impossible on mine. It just blows the paper away...

MEP803a looses all compression. Lifter Problem?

I wonder if this could be the issue with my 803a. It starts and runs perfectly from a cold start. Once the engine runs for a whiie, it's RPm fluctuate slightly...you can see the Hertz go up and down. If I shut the gen down it won't re-start until it sits for a while....it just spins when...

    803a won't restart

I just look at the TM and the Fuel tranfer pump should have a flow rate of at least 25oz min...aux pump at least 32oz per min. Last night a read the PSI requirements...but cant seem to locate them.

    803a won't restart

I haven't found any info on flow rate for the pump...only PSI. Not that they are mutually exclusive. But thank you. I'll try this first before pulling off the Aux pump.

    803a won't restart

I do have two short videos of the gen running...one when it is cold start and perfect...and the other when you can see the Hz/rpm rise and fall when hot. But I don't think videos can post here.

    803a won't restart

Yes all filters have been changed with the exception of the barel filter next to the pump. I've been looking up that part number but can't seem to find anyone that sells it. I like to keep spare filters on hand in case I'm in a bind. And yes it was primed properly. Runs 100% perfect for the...

    803a won't restart

I did notice the Barel filter. I was going to bypass it when testing the pump.

    803a won't restart

It means both fuel filters were changed when I bought the generator. I was also given the original fingers that were on the machine. I don't have all the answers. But if you think I fuel filter won't pass fuel when the engine is hot and then passes fuel when it cools...I would love to hear...

    803a won't restart

Both fuel filters were changed when I took possession of the generator. The oil filter was new too. I changed the new oil filter because the oil was contaminated with water. But the diesel looked fine when I drained the diesel...put in a gallon or so...sloshed it around (using a forklift)...

    803a won't restart

Had our Heavy Equipment diesel mechanic take a quick look at it today. He said in touching the fuel pump that it seemed warmer than it should (mind you he has never seen this exact pump) so I am not sure if it should be warm or not. I was thinking it would draw the fuel from my 5 gallon filler...

    803a won't restart

Just throwing this out there....anyone think it could be one of the fuel metering-pump? being on the engine block they would be more susceptible to water seaping in from the exhaust and heat?...could one bind after warm up? This is just a shot in the dark.

    803a won't restart

Yes I knew the about the aux pump and what it does. I must have misread somewhere that the 803 had 2 primary pumps (one as backup). But I don't have another genset.
