Hey Michael,
I've had my M1078 for ~6 months...and I've been pleased with it.
My learning curve on this truck was pretty steep compared to my M35A2...especially not having ever driven something with air brakes.
It drives like a school bus...i'm still not used to steering with the air cab...
perhaps this is helpful:
my m1078 completely lacked brakes on the rear axle. a ~1oz dose of wd40 in all 4 air brake chambers for both service and parking sides (thru hoses connections) freed it after setting 1-2 days. Some days later i dumped the wet tank without dumping the two brake tanks...
