Its not a MEP but I bought it

I paid 3k, the owner wanted 6k but I was able to snag it for half. He said he originally paid $11,500 for the thing! I figured 3k was about what a nice 803A runs after a bid war. It spins 3600 and has no idle function and im not a huge fan of that, 5w40 oil for sure! I ordered the belt, water...

Its not a MEP but I bought it

Was lookin for a MEP for my father since mine works so well, but ran across a ultra rare 1999 Honda EB12D with only 16 hours on it, so I picked it up- one question for the gear heads in here- Should I replace the timing belt even at its low hours? The manual says not until 8K hours...... but...

    MEP803A oil capacity

I remember reading that the 803 holds a gallon of oil, correct? Just drained mine after a good 12 hour run after a fall windstorm before the leaves fell off the trees. This is the first oil change since auction pickup as the filter and oil were just changed prior to auction and I'm up to 6.5...

Won a MEP-803A with trailer at auction - but how long will it take to get home?

I too only had my 2 day weekend to drive the 2,500 miles round trip from northern Oregon down to Barstow! I drove 85-90 empty down I5 and made awesome time, except the small fuel tank kept stopping me. On the way home I kept it at 60 the entire way home until I got close enough for a friends...

Won a MEP-803A with trailer at auction - but how long will it take to get home?

I agree fully, take your time and have some fun with the 803 pickup--- but even my 80yr old father told me to F'n hammer down before I get ran over when pulling our travel trailer threw Idaho, locals at fuel stops said the min speed is 70 :) I joked about old dodge 12v's with 4:10 rear ends...

Won a MEP-803A with trailer at auction - but how long will it take to get home?

Won a MEP-803A with trailer at auction - but how long will it take to get home?

Mine came with 0psi in the tires, fired up the 803 plugged in my compressor and aired them up to 30psi and held 65-70 the 1000 miles home without a issue, these are rock solid with zero sway with the pintel at the high setting! just make sure the parking brakes are fully released :)

Advice on a 50-100 gallon Auxiliary tank for MEP-802A generator

Oregon also only offers B5 or B20+ so I decided I must find a way to cycle threw fuel rather than storage of it. So- Found a FREE home heating oil tank on craigslist from a home seller being required to switch to gas prior to the homes sale (stupid Oregon) then added a nice pump and a ultra fine...

MEP803A Smoke- wet stacked, rings or injectors?

Wanted to give a update, ran it as hard as my homes wiring would allow and kept it between 60-110% with electric heaters, doing laundry-ect and sure enough blue smoke went away just past the 90 minute mark! Here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fWpjFjWCC4&feature=youtu.be

    MEP-803A battery size

I see on some auctions that the battery's have shields to keep them away from the block- my 803 has nothing- no hold downs or anything and the + terminal is only about a inch away from the block, does anyone want to sell me the correct hold down hardware?

First power outage with the MEP803A

My first run of the 803 also came way before i had planned, it was wired in just a few days prior and we were in the middle of a kiddos b day party (excuse to drink with friends) with a house full of people, I spiked 110% a few times with a kitchen full of crock pots, toaster oven, microwave...

    MEP-1030 cold start 12° F

you get all the nice ones! Look forward to getting one of those when they hit IP. 5kw out of that is pretty good as my Kubota B2320 doesn't make much power until revved above 2500RPM, sings well right up to 3100

MEP803A Smoke- wet stacked, rings or injectors?

I did have pencil eraser sized flaming crispy critters coming out of it the first time I ran it hard on a hot summer night, Wish I had taken a video of it! I'm picky about my fuel, its fresh ULSD with 2 quarts of power service white bottle antigel, 8 oz of biocide and 1 quart of 2 stroke oil...
