Sorry should have paid more attention to the model of truck you are working on ,that being said pressure lube is not required but is recommended on my PTO and mine was ordered with it. Thanks for the reply.
I ordered a Chelsea parker 221R part# 221REAJP-A3XK which gave me a 15/28 gear ratio (the middle of the three available ratios) air shift and a sae B 2 or 4 bolt 13 tooth direct pump mount (no driveshaft required) will have to check on the pump the installers are going to use and the expected...
My PTO went in no problem ,It's a stock housing with optional air shift fits great .Chelsea parker still makes them with 10 different shift options and 30 different outputs.I am thinking that people may be having problems installing the 221 ptos some people sell,The 221R is the original housing.
Here are pics of the PTO, It went on no problem ,is air shift and direct pump mount (pump not on yet) and no problem with heat from the exhaust.
Everyone that has had problems installing there pto may have been using the wrong pto,I have seen two kinds of housings for sale and in my opinion some...
To my understanding the torque converter locks up in neutral to drive the pto. The pto is live in all gears but will turn when moving only, and not at full rpm because the torque converter will not be locked up. Here is a 221R ordered with air shift and direct pump mount , will be installed next...
I think I have found drums that will work out board ,going to try in the next couple of months on my front first .will require machining down the out side diameter of the hub and the wheels will be spaced out 1/2 inch on each side
Modified the tire crane to go on the new dump boxes tail gate ,where the spare will be if I need to carry it the hoist can swing 180 degrees and hoist up ,welding a fixed hook point on tomorrow
This is the style of box ,but it will only be 12 feet long. I am impatiently waiting for the PTO and will send pics as soon as we try to install ,the pto body is slimmer than the standard 221 and appears to be the same body as an original pto and the air shift and direct mount show as options...
I have my M931a1 at Nahanni Industries, for a full dump box install .Front mount trunnion hoist ,lift gate ,air tarp waiting for a custom ordered Chelsea parker 221R pto with air shift and direct mount pump. Will post pics and part numbers as it gets built .
One of the reasons I want to do the change is that I am converting this tractor into a dump truck and it will require an inspection every 6 months with outboard drums hubs bearing axle shafts will not need to be pulled apart to look at the brakes.
I have been reading any post I could find on brake mods and upgrades and have decided there is not much wrong with the wedge brakes if you maintain them the problem I see is the inboard drums ,so I have done some measuring and fitting and I think I have found a drum that will work outboard...
