So, I mentioned I did my headgasket recently...
I collected a bunch of notes and parts, but figured it was worth it's own thread. In the non-hotrod section.
If yer interested, here ya go.

There are many threads out there about fixing your head gasket, and I encourage all to search and find them. Lots of great info out there.
That said, I just did mine, and I collected a bunch of stuff I found and put it in one place (this thread) as well as adding a list of what I bought to do...
First, Merry Christmas
Second, back to regular programming...
Hopefully today, and certainly this weekend, I'll be getting the air-ride seat mod done - with some adaptations. Pics shortly.
I also have all the gauges in-hand, so hope to do those too. Fuel sender tweaks might happen this...
Ahh, a bit more digging and it looks like you are right. The difference between the 13020(that I've got) and the 13060 is that oil feed hole...
And that's a heck of a price!
Please post pics once you get it. I'm curious how they made the hole, and if it appears to do any oil...
So I got a little further on the oiling issue...
Here's a pic with the side cover removed and both the side cover and base gasket in place.
So to me, it seems like all that I'm missing is a hole that connects the the two holes in the gaskets. If the pen were a drill:
Why that hole is left...
Awesome Aaron!
THe Tu-Flo models seemed like they were the best choice for a replacement. I was never able to find one for as good a deal as the one I got, but that's the one I was after to start with.
Hopefully the oiling system mates up correctly! Keep us posted!
Hey rustystud,
That is what I thought would be the case with this compressor, but have a look at these pics I took of the bottom today...
I don't see any sign of an oil feed hole in the base.
Does anyone have a pic of the base of the stock compressor, or a pic of the mount?
And I'm a little...
Hey Brianp454, Thank you for the offer. I typically do my best to design out pipe threads for my day job, and I frequently dig thru both parker and swagelok catalogs...
And while I really do hate tapered threads, I opted to use them in this design for the following reasons:
(if you don't...
Mine was $300 plus shipping from eBay. I had to watch for a little while for that price, but I didn't feel like it was an extraordinary deal. I'm sure you could find it for that again.
Though, I'd advise waiting until I figure out if it works...

Ive looked thru the TM to try and understand how the stock compressor is fed oil. I couldn't find anything I felt was definitive, but it looks like there is an oil jet from the compressor bracket. They appear to be splash lubed. And a gravity drain back in bracket as well. I'll know more...
Here are a few pics of the compressor. Again, the head on this one requires water cooling, so I doubt it's what came on any multifuels. Mine has a 2 cylinder compressor, but it's much smaller than this.
I'll post comparison pics when I get the old one out...
Air ride seat and gauges are...
Well, I can't say for sure that there is one that fits, but I have one that *should* fit...
Haldex EL1320. It does have a watercooled head, so it's not direct bolt in, but as best I can tell, the base mount and oiling system should be compatible.
This is the datasheet I have on it.
I'll also...
So I've made some progress here and there.
I have the first prototype of the billet dual fuel filter installed and running. I'm tracking it on a separate thread:
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?144780-Deuce-Billet-Dual-Fuel-Filter-Assembly
I want to get some more miles on it before...
I tested with the same diesel fuel I run in the engine.
May not have been ideal to have a garage full of atomized diesel... but the test was more accurate...
I cleaned out the hydraulic oil that was in the pump, flushed it with diesel, and was off to the races.
(I didn't use it on cardboard...
Hey Y'all
So with a new headgasket back in and most of the truck back together, I took the often given advice and decided to test my injectors.
I am happy that I managed to build a pop tester with stuff I had in my garage (though Enerpak pumps and swagelok fittings aren't really normal garage...
Hey All,
I'm looking for some advice on the "best-practice" way to change oil after a headgasket change.
TM says change oil when finished - sure, but I'm looking for more details.
I was very careful when removing stuff and cleaning the block, but it's nearly inevitable that some junk fell...
Hey Aaron!
Up to this point, I was thinking of engraving when I first machine the part, then anodize after. So there wouldn't be much contrast. Just the .020" groove from the tool. I was going to "soft" anodize them, so I should be able to engrave after, without having the cracking that you...
First Question: yes, RLF ADJ stands for Relief Adjustment. Ideally it won't need any adjustment, but I'm not sure of that yet. I'll include instructions in either case.
Second Question: IN PRESS is the inlet pressure (pre filters), OUT PRESS is the outlet pressure (after both filters)...
