We used a GPS and about a 60 mile trip to get the mileage for my M1008. I will say it was flat freeway on a summer day and I am running 37" tall tires but I got 24 MPG...
Haven't seen that number since....
As a side note my brother drove his beautiful 68 Ford Bronco with a 302 and a three on...
I have to agree with that.
If were to buy the canvas shell with the spreader bars and rack it would be right at $2,000
But at $550 delivered to my house, I can swing that!!
This summer was great with the shell off and the cage finally installed. The kids loved riding in the back and the week long Scout trip in the Uintas was great. But I knew next spring I wanted to get a soft top that I could roll up the sides when the family goes to Moab.
Well I came across a...
Once you get your truck and drive it around you will decide what changes you will want to make and in what order. My first trip on the freeway almost brought me to tears with the 50 MPH and the noise. Made the changes I wanted and I love my truck.
I don't drive mine to work everyday but I do...
After talking with Off Road Design I decided to not use the stock springs just so I could get some articulation. After lifting one of those rear leaf springs I know why I wasn't articulating very well.
Truck looks great, and when you go to the larger tires you will really enjoy driving the...
I had a different experience....
Had my wheels and tires but not the lift yet and wanted to see how the tires looked. Would have worked great if I just never turned the wheel
I have a 4" lift and still needed to trim the fender.
Good Luck!!
If you are set on the 36" tires you should not have any problems with rubbing. You may have some balancing issues if these are the bias ply Goodyears.
I run a Tuff Country 4" lift and run 37" tall Goodyear Military M/T's. I have trimmed the fenders to help with rubbing when off road.
As far as...
Carson Trailers
I did the same trip last week but was able to get both trailers on a larger trailer. Would have to say the GL staff at Fort Carson were some of the best I have worked with. Very patient and helpful getting the trailers situated.
Glad to say I got to experience Denver 5:00 p.m...
I thought about sanding the CARC and doing some body work, but after reading the warnings I just cleaned it and painted it all.
One gallon did the entire truck including my shell and inside of the bed. I used two good coats of Sherwin Williams CARC.
With a lift to these trucks the cross over steering is a great addition. The steering when the truck is articulated is much better then the stock configuration.
Something that has not been mentioned is the steering brace from ORD. If you run larger tires or just have a lot of miles on your...
You need to call Stephen at Off Road Design. He is familiar with our trucks and what will work and what will not work.
I am running 37" tall tires with a Tuff Country 4" lift and could not be happier with the ride and especially the freeway ride. You can now talk in the cab and can hear the...
