    Heater

I just zipped tied my resistor to a hard air line against the firewall. I covered all my connections with heat shrink.

    90W GL-1 as fuel?

Cool, I was wondering how I was going to keep it separate from my other waste motor oil. If I mix all my waste oil together, filter it, then mix it with some diesel fuel...it should run fine....right?

    90W GL-1 as fuel?

I just changed the oil in my transmission and was wondering if I could use the old oil as fuel? 90W seems a little heavy to flow smoothly, and it is mineral oil based so not sure if it will burn. Tried to light some of it with a torch and could not get it to burn, just smoked. Thanks

    Transmission Leak....

OK, I drained the oil this weekend....I could not really tell if it had water in it....I think it may have gotten water in it during my fording, but after the long drive home, most of it got cooked out..... Now it has fresh oil in it and is definitely not overfilled. So as soon as we get some...

    Heater

I also used one of these heaters mounted under the passenger seat and setup a high/low switch. I bought a "T" handle cable and installed it with a VW heater valve. So all I have to do is pull the cable, it opens the water flow and turn on the fan. When summer comes back, I just keep the...

    Transmission Leak....

I have not drained the oil....I plan on doing that Saturday morning....

    Transmission Leak....

OK, so where is the leak coming from? If there are no seals to leak....the only option is a crack? If the case is cracked, is seems it would leak all the time.

    Transmission Leak....

This really makes no sense when you think about it... If you overfill it and the oil gets hot and expands, where would it come out? I would think it would come out the vent on the top of the transmission, not somewhere inside the bell housing.

    Transmission Leak....

Ok, so why did it not leak on a trip 2 weeks ago? And why doesn't it leak now sitting at idle?

    Transmission Leak....

Bump..... Should it be sprayed with the engine running? Not sure how to get it all clean with it not running, But I know the fumes from many products can be sucked into a diesel engine and make it overspeed.

    Transmission Leak....

Should I spray the brake clean while the engine is running?

    Transmission Leak....

OK, I checked the gear box oil and it was about an inch below the fill hole. It was nice and clean honey colored. The oil on the ground was dark, but not as dark as the engine oil and it definitely smelled of gear oil. I also checked the vent, which I assume the the small 7/16 fitting on...

    Transmission Leak....

OK, well if my oil level is good then I guess I will have to look at this....but I assume I can't measure any clearances without removing the tranny and tearing it apart. Where is this plug exactly?

    Transmission Leak....

I hope you are right....will save me a ton of work....well, maybe...I guess I will still have to pull the transmission to clean off the clutch.

    Transmission Leak....

Yes, I did do a water fording....but it should not have been deep enough to get in the tranny. But that does make more sense than it simply being over filled. This truck was driven about 50 miles at interstate speeds about 2 weeks ago, and it did not leak, and nothing has been touched on...

    Transmission Leak....

I agree, I need to check the level, and will do so tonight. I was driving 55-60 most of the time. But It also leaked after I spent a few hours riding slowly on the trails and dirt roads.

    Transmission Leak....

As stated, I don't think it is an over filled situation. If it was, shouldn't it stop leaking after it dumps the oil down to the recommend level?

    Transmission Leak....

OK, I’ve done allot of searching and so far I haven't found anything conclusive. I took the deuce out for the weekend to a friend's place in the mountains. The next day we took it out for a trail ride....when we stopped to get fuel, I noticed a puddle of oil dripping from the front area. We...

    m105 camper

Why couldn't you take a commercial pop up camper and put it in the bed? I know it would fit in a deuce or a 5 ton. Just have it fold out over the sides of the bed. Just had to come up with a way to secure it down.
