If that was the case then instead of the turbos interchangeing with all of the mulitfuel engines they would only fit there designated engines...All of the turbos ore a T-6 Frame or large frame turbos...they will interchange with any T-6 Turbo..Holset ht-6 Schwitzer Ht3b...etc...etc... thats...
They used whatever turbos the motor pool had laying around or new in box...so any one of the turbos could have been on any of the multifuel engines when they were sold at gov auction....And yea it whistles some but not nearly as loud as the whistler....Im currently rebuilding a 3lj-319 Schwitzer...
Actually that is model number 3ld-305 has a 12 blade exducer twin scroll design...It dosent whistle as the whistler because of the shape and the way the scrolls direct the exhaust around the turbine....i recently rebuilt one and it really cleaned up the LDS-465-1a multifuel...and it doesent...
All multifuel flanges are T-6....The whistler is also a twin scroll turbo to help it spool faster...the d and the 3ld-305 are twin scroll exhaust housings
Yeah this turbo does bolt up with a vband calmp...and it does whistle just not as loud as a whistler.....im actully buying two whistlers locally and im gona twin turbo my 6.2 with them....thanksfor all the input tho but i figured it out thanks to all!
This is an early model schwitzer altho it has a smaller exhaust housing its still only a 12 blade turbine...THe whistler is a 11 blade turbine on the exhaust side
It is the old style turbo with the tag on the compressor housing..i been looking on here for info but nobody seems to knw yet...Some say its off a lds...But it came off a LDT...im rebuilding it but wasnt sure if it will whistler like the "C" Turbo
I have recently purchased a Schwitzer model 3LD-305 Turbo with the whistler (3LJ-319) Exhaust housing...I am wondering will this turbo whistle like the actual whistler or 3LJ-319? Anyhelp would be apreciated thanks.
