I would agree that the flat black is going to be HOT!!! Have you looked into smooth coat bed liner instead of paint? If you aren’t looking for a glossy clear coat look you can do smooth coat bed liner and get a look VERY close to regular paint. I am going to do the outside of my 93 Humvee with...
Interstate used to be about the best in my opinion but in the last year and a half I have had three sets replaced (under warranty) in two pickups when they were about 6 months old. They weren’t ever run dead and 2 sets never saw cold weather. I have had a couple friends have the same issue and...
Here is a good example of the humvee on ice lol or just a good example of me and some Corona on a few frozen lakes on the ranch.

The 3 spade to 3 prong is what that picture is of. You can’t see the middle off the wire in the picture but that is all one little harness. The headlight bulb connects with the 3 prong the the other end of the wire with the 3 individual plugs connect at the housing. I know for a fact that my...
This is what the plug on the HMMWV looks like. The three individual plugs go to the light housing and the single 3 hole connector with two vertical and one horizontal goes to the light itself.
Not saying this from google but from experience. I just put new lights in a couple humvees recently.
Looks good! Really interested to see the turbo set up you put on it. Are you going with a factory style setup or an aftermarket style? Also what are your plans for sound deadening? I have been experimenting lately with this and can give you some info on what I have found to be the best vs...
It’s illegal everywhere to be an a$$hole and flash your brights at people just because you don’t like their blue lights.
Most humvees and other vehicles with the standard 7” round sealed beam headlight have a 3 prong plug your head lights plug into. Two vertical plugs side by side with one...
LED’s have a voltage operating range from 4v to 30v when made for automotive use. There are some rare cases when they are 12v specific and the seller should be able to tell you if they are. I have a set of LED headlights that I got for $90 on Amazon. They already have the correct 3 prong plug on...
Don’t forget to check the ground on the blower before doing the jumper wire test. If it’s a bad ground you will still get no results with the jumper wire.
Take a jumper wire from the positive terminal on the battery to the positive lead on the blower motor. Should show you if your blower motor is bad or if the problem is before that.
Another thing to check would be the grounds for your blower and the gauges. There is one on by the blower motor and another behind the heater controls. You can take your gauges out and have pretty easy access to the one behind the controls.
For that price you can find doors with full size windows that go up and down. Not trying to push you away from that style it just seems like those windows would be inconvenient for a lot of things like ATM, drive through window or even just hanging your arm out the windows some day when it’s...
They go great in the snow but in my experience they don’t do very well on ice. I have new mud tires so that could be part of the issue on ice. Also when choosing your tire for in the snow narrower is better. The wider your tire the more snow you are pushing in front of you.
Glad to hear I am not the only one that does that! I tell people that same thing for both my 93 HMMWV and the wife’s H2. They always respond with “really I thought they did horrible” and I always just say “that’s what I always heard too”. Used to drive a 99 Cummins that got 28mpg. Was always fun...
I have been looking into twin turbo set ups on 6.2L. I don’t see any way yet to retain the stock air intake but there a lot of the twins on civilian rigs that look like they could be made to fit a humvee. Not going to be easy but there is enough space under the hood to custom build a set up...
Put a new input seal on the front right geared hub. First time I have ever messed with the geared hubs but it’s simple. Took just over an hour including tool clean up and filling it with oil. I made sure to spin the hub a few times while filling it with oil to get all the air bubbles out of the...
I have found 24v spade plug glow plugs for CUCV just wanted to make sure they were the same fit. Previous owner put the glow plugs on a push button when they hacked the wiring harness coming through the firewall. Eventually I might wire it back in factory but for now it works....kind of. I think...
