    Lmtv radio relay question

So pulled the panel today. No breaker. Didnt have time today to really mess with the power much more as I had to go to work. Thinking of just taking out the entire stupid existing cable and replacing it with the one that came with my intercom. I did however fix the annoying squeak so yay, one...

Its just a standard radio power cable. Now, I dont have the radio power plate installed, just trying to plug the power directly into the intercom. And I did put the meter on the plug and not a single one had power. Going to go back tomorrow with the intercom, temp install it, and see what...

    Lmtv radio relay question

Finally had a cooler day here on the surface of the sun aka St Louis... Pulled the plate below the fuse panel and found the 24v wire disconnected. Reconnected it, found a loose bracket as well. Hoping that bracket was the OBNOXIOUS metal on metal squeaking noise... Anywho! Fired up the truck...

    LMTV fan runs frequently

Took a run this morning before it got stupid hot, even at lower speeds (35-40) runs every minute. I'm going to try washing the radiator as well as taking it to jiffy lube for a coolant flush. Now, what I remember from when I was in the army, the LMTV fan only really ran like this when we were...

    LMTV fan runs frequently

So my LMTV has an annoying issue Ive discovered. The fan runs VERY often. On the road at speed, usually every other minute for 30 seconds then shuts off. Vehicle is unloaded, I dont have a tarp installed, not towing a trailer. Im usually running at around 50 on the highway, not flat out and...

    M 1088 semi tractor.

Your not going over 55 without changing the pumpkin gears out. The MRAP final gears will take you over that, but they are 500 a pop. Might have to change out the tires as well, some of the FMTV tires are not rated for speeds over 55.

    shifting and blinkers

Drivers training in the army DRILLED it into us about turning on the lights as soon as the engine was started. Unless your in tactical or NOD driving, headlights on!!!!!! Still have the habit, once engine is stable running, turn the lights on then unlock the steering wheel.. Then turn on the...

    shifting and blinkers

Turn signals only turn on when lights are on for tactical reasons. Also, if your driving under night vision and suddenly your blinker turns on, you can blind the guy following you. That's what the BO option is on your light controller, blackout mode. If you hit mode on the transmission it goes...

    Lmtv radio relay question

Tried installing my VIC-4 into the truck the other day, no power at the cable end. I'll check again for a manual reset under the radio rack, but everything else seems normal. In a private message, another member said he had the same issue, no power at the 24v radio cable, so it's not just me...

Removed the lifting eyes and spreader bars... 280 pounds lighter

Pulled the rear bars off today. Man, did the noise of them hitting the ground sound like a gun shot... Think I save em for now and maybe scrap em/fleabay em out in a year if I don't touch them. Also went through a shallow lake today! Somehow it both cleaned the radiator out AND stopped the...

Prepairing for Packing her in a shipping Container....

A roll on/roll off is your next best way. Prices are not bad at all, and they go just about everywhere in the world. And your not limited at all by height nor would have to do any work once it arrives, as its driven off. http://www.sefco-export.com/shipping/roro_guides.htm Rail load is an...

    M1081 LMTV Titling In Florida

They took almost 2 months to send me my title and didn't fill it out correctly...forgot the sale price and date sold. They are paying the late fees, and crediting my account for the headaches. They also forgot to send a signed bill of sale, but that's been straightened up.

    Lmtv radio relay question

Hey all. So I was mopping up the 3 inches of water on the passanger floor that leaked through the turret cover (major storms here in stl today, a bolt was loose....added silicone around the cover and torqued all bolts) when I took the electrical panel cover off to look for damage, I noticed...
