They're 12v but you can wire them in series, as long as it's convex to convex and west coast to west coast, to make them 24v. I previously added a battery equalizer to safely get 12v, but it's not necessary.
Well, winters coming so I decided to prepare. Last winter exposed many shortcomings with my deuce. Earlier this year I installed the alcohol evaporator, upgraded to an electric wiper kit, and installed the windshield washer kit. These may seen like "luxury items" but they offer a huge...
I took a gamble and ordered Awning Armor from a company called Winsol. They have several products for cleaning and restoring vinyl awnings. My Cover is worn to thread in several areas on the top of my cover. I repaired several split seams with shoe goo and put on two applications of the...
If you want it go for it. I have never regretted getting my deuce. You might want to look into a private seller though. It's great to enjoy driving the truck while learning how to work on it.
When I was At Ft Benning we used them the few times we weren't road marching. They had the seats but we stood on them to make room for more. I could lift my feet off the floor and not move.
I did my whole truck in Gilespie paint from Rapco parts. I buy the 383 CARC substitute in rattle cans by the case. I have yet to find anything else that matches even close.

I just installed my off road lights. A muffler shop made me a light bar out of 2" exhaust that bolted in the convoy light brackets. Four Hella lights with 24V 100W bulbs bolted right on. I highly recommend running an independent auxiliary wiring harness. I built a fuse/relay panel that I can...
First remove the cap by loosening the two set crews. Then, while gently turning the knob clockwise, loosen the small screw in the hole on the opposite end. When that screw is loose the knob will screw out easily. When it's free, push down on the knob and pull out the pin from the shaft. Pull...
I printed out the pattern from the TB. I colored in the pattern which made it a lot easier when I was painting. Also I managed to get one of the canvas covers on my tailgate chain. I soaked it in water and it took about an hour to work it on, but it is a huge improvement. The old canvas was...
Thanks for all the compliments. Over the past year I've concentrated on everything mechanical on the truck. It's nice to have it looking as good as it runs.
I did those myself. When Igot the truck the j pipe was rusted through so when I replaced it I added a muffler and a flapper. The elbow on the intake is just 4" exhaust pipe from Napa. We get some bad weather here and so far I haven't had any water make it into the exhaust or intake.
One lesson I learned is you're better off shooting the pattern freehand than using a chalk outline. No matter how hard you try to avoid it you'll get overspray on the chalk and the outline will be visible through the paint.
I had a pretty good base with just a little chipping and surface rust, so I took a wire wheel to the rough spots then used degreaser on the whole thing. It seems to be sticking to the CARC really well.
I think the base coat of OD took about 12 cans, then 6 black, and 3 brown. I ended up getting three cases, one OD and the othhers mix and match. That way I have a stock for repairs and projects.
Also, has anyone out there used the Rapco canvas chain covers. I can't get mine around the hook...
